If I was still a kid it couldn’t get here fast enough. As an adult I’m think-ing “already???” As a decorator I’m saying “bring it on!” Earlier this year the magazine focused on cutting edge pixel technology. It’s truly amazing what you can do. Any bulb, any color, anytime. Your light display becomes more like a giant TV with all the moving and colorful shapes. I’ll readily admit I was going pixel crazy with plans for the 2014 holidays. Then I got to talking with some non-techies about decorating and they quickly grounded me. Christmas is about being with family. It means traditions and reliving fond memories. It’s about a warm and embracing atmo-sphere we look forward to at the end of the year. What does that mean for over-the-top decorating? It means to not get so enam-ored with the future we forget about the past. We’re taking a step back from technology in this edition of the magazine and taking some pointers from the past. How are you decorating this year? It doesn’t matter if it’s a simple tree with a couple of ornaments in the corner of the room or a million lights all over your house and dancing to the music, you’re creating that Christmas spirit. Do what’s right for you and help spread the joy of this wonderful time of year. … and don’t forget, it’s less than 100 days until Christmas 2014.
