PlanetChristmas Showing Off 2004
Page formatting seem a little "funky"? Long story
but in order to keep as many pictures as possible from the
PlanetChristmas archives, there has to be some HTML liberties taken.
Please enjoy the pictures but ignore the way the entire page looks.

Here is our lights display (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/writeus6/
) which includes over 60,000 lights, 100 hand carved wooden
figures including the grinch, spongebob, shrek, rugrats, toy
story, and many more. This year we look more forward to sharing
our hard work with our community of Charlotte County, which was
devastated by Hurricane Charley. |
 |
Our third year brought
the total to nearly 32,000 lights. For the 2004 display, we
added over 20,000 lights, a 23 foot artificial tree, 2 more
arches, strobes, fencing, 24 two foot trees, and a few more
little things. We are still not computerized, but that should
happen next year. Please visit us at
www.lightup.ca
and have a great Christmas.
Thanks,

Hi all. Merry Christmas from the Fleets in Hope,
British Columbia.
It's a work in progress. Close to 6000 lights so
far.

We have done a large lights display at
our house for the past three years. We have something
for just about everyone - yard-art, lots of lights, a
running train, and a Christmas PowerPoint Presentation.
We are trying to spread the word as much as possible.
For more pictures, you can visit my website at
http://sci.tamucc.edu/~jglas/mypage/Pictures.htm Thank
you for your help.

We are from Seaford in the South East of
England and are using about 5,000 lamps this year, all of which
are American. All the shapes are hand made, except the reindeer
and 2 candles on the lawn. The countdown to Christmas is made
from LEDs and controlled by a simple 10 switch control box (just
need to remember to change it each night).
To all that
put on a display, or enjoy looking at them, have a great season.

Hello, My name is Michelle Cedillo and I live in South Gate,
CA.
I usually decorate the house with my dad for Christmas
and last year it paid off when the city of South Gate
decided to award our house with the holiday beautification
certificate. This certificate is only awarded to 3 homes out
of the whole city for the best Christmas lights display. We
were so excited and appreciative that our hard work
was recognized! So I submit these pictures to share our 2004
Christmas display! Thanks!

New for this year was the Arches, and we increased the
Mega-Tree to 50k lights. This year we also went to LOR with
48ch for the computer control and a low power FM station.

this is a picture of our neighbors house we
live opposite. he has a little girl that has disabilities and
needs stimulation and bright shiny lights are a good way of
achieving this...we are in the north east of england..merry xmas
to everyone of you. |

This is my 2004 holiday light display in Painesville Ohio.
The general layout is somewhat the same as last year's. I
decided to stick with that layout because it looked so good
last year.
I'm in the neighborhood of 15,000 (or a bit more) lights.
My newest attraction this year, and the centerpieces of my
display, are the electronic firework lights. These lights
stand around 15 feet tall and have a burst diameter of 6 1/2
feet. A computer is located in the bases of the units and
they have several different preprogrammed burst patterns.
Definitely something no one else around here has ever seen,
and they are very mesmerizing to watch. The effect looks
just like a real firework going up and exploding!
The display also features two 20-foot tall trees, a 15-foot
tall candy cane, euro-style driveway arches with icicle
lights on both driveway entrances and other animated and
static light sculptures.
The display is a big conversation piece, as it is every
year, and the neighbors just love it!

Hi chuck - here's this years offering from
South West England for your website. It's getting better by the
year. Maybe next year it'll be up there with some of the
American displays - you guys sure know how to light a house!!!
I'm quite happy for you to leave my email address in the text if
it's ok with you - if not, just edit away! - Merry Christmas to
you and yours - Andrew Howell (Redruth Cornwall, England)
My second year of showing off on Planet Christmas! It was
hard to know which photo to put in this year. Unfortunately, I
can't get the whole thing into one photo and there are more
lights and blowmoulds by the door. I chose a predominately
white theme this year and decided that the outline ropelights
should be four channel for a little extra razzmatazz. The two
large deer on the left are motorized as well. The spiral trees
are new, as are the blowmould reindeers and sleigh (that you
can't see in the picture! Other then that, I have already had
people stopping me at the local shops and have been in the local
paper so I guess I'm doing something right. This year a couple
of my neighbours have got the bug and have started some new
displays up of their own - We're trying to make ourselves an
English 'satellite' to 'Planet' Christmas! So, to all lighting
friends around the world, from Andrew in Redruth, Cornwall,
England,(ajhowellonline@hotmail.com)
have a great Christmas and a prosperous new year! |
 |
We just got married back in April and this is our first year
to have a house of our own to decorate. It consists of 4500
lights, green garland and red bows, 15 extension cords, and
a photocell timer. It was funny because it was raining
while me and my wife were on the roof putting up the icicle
lights. (It was about 50 degrees, but colder when your wet)
We thought this would be a good starting point for the years
to come. Next year i hope to add even more. Well, Merry
Christmas from Justin and Brittany Koehn in Mount Juliet
TN.

 |
here is a sneak preview of the show i put on. I still
have four more elves and a two foot tall train and some
other little things to put out in and around the carport
yet. And I still have my ten foot boat with six foot
wheels in the yard to the left of the photo.
Well I will try to send you more photos later. I put
copies of the photos in the attach file.

The Read family home in Vancouver Wa. has
approx. 12,000 lights. We've been lighting our home for about
twelve years and more is added every year. This photo was taken
in 2002. We have since added an animated singing and dancing
snowman and a sleigh and flying reindeer on a cable stretched
from house eve to tree.
|
 |
I'm Jim, and here is a picture
of our house in Laguna Niguel, California. We figured we have
about 8,000 lights on the outside this year. We actually got an
honorable mention in the city's annual decorating contest!! Not
bad for a first attempt! We would like to add more lights this
year, but we are max'd out on our power. Our 11 foot tree in the
living room alone has 2500 lights and takes up some of the
power. Maybe Santa will bring me an electrical upgrade this
year! |

Here is our display in Yuba City California 2004

I don't know about y'all but my
circuits started blowing after 20 strings! So I built a reindeer
out of pine straw to extend the effect. The neighborhood helps
each year, gathering the recyclable pine star (mulch for
acid-loving plants) and adding the reins from old ribbon.

450 C-9s, three new 20amp circuits and lots of cords. I think
I'm hooked now. Enjoy |

Here’s our simple display in Lake in the
Hills Illinois. We use an X10 controller to control
three outside outlets and two inside. Outside there
are 6,685 lights including the 35 twinkling lights on the
mailbox. We have a simple approach of framing the
house in white, using single color lights for individual
trees and bushes with multi-color lights on the doors and
windows.
This is our 9th year of putting up this display which
grew to this size about 3 years ago. Kevin J. Fangman

Our first effort at animated flamingos pulling a sleigh. We
had a lot fun putting up this up, it was a family
adventure. There are 13,000 lights drawing about 35
AMPS and it is really bright. The kids in the neighborhood
were involved as always.

Well I certainly don't have the
light show that all of you have, but I do have about 45 hand
made characters from Charlie Brown Christmas, The Grinch, Calvin
& Hobbes and Winnie-the-Pooh. We hand draw and create every
character ourselves. Currently there's about 10,000 lights
spread all over the property and we add more as we go. Enjoy!

My girlfriend from CA told me about this site and said we
should put our house on it. We try to change or add
something every year. This year it was the little twig tree
which I love as it has such pretty lights on it. It's not
as elaborate as some but we enjoy doing it.

This is a picture of part my
2004 holiday display in Stoneham, Massachusetts. It's small
compared to some of the other displays featured here, but it is
by far the largest display my family and I have done. The
display features over 12,000 lights and draws something in the
area of 33 amps. The waterfall in this picture is computer
animated, and the 12 foot tree changes colors between red,
green, and blue. Also not seen in this picture is a shooting
star with a shimmering tail, and a 12.5 foot inflatable
snowman. I'm planning on expanding into computer animation next
year, and a much larger display. More pictures and
information can be found at my website, Holiday Landscapes, at

I would like to share with you my house in Maple Valley,
WA. The Warren's house has about 6,000-8,000 lights on
it this year and it grows each year. Along with our
blow up Snowman and lighted wreath, this year we have
added a train and animated deer on the fence along with
many more lights. This is our 3rd year of lighting at
our house and we seem to have encouraged our neighbors
to add more lighting as well, I seem to be the "Clark
Griswold" (like the movie Christmas Vacation) of my
street for sure! The picture shows a left and
right-hand view of our house. Thank you!

Merry Christmas to all!
In our first year at attempting to "out-do" the neighbors,
we feature 6,100 lights, two motorized lighted reindeer
drinking from a lake and an animatronic santa waving from
the window. We have grand plans for the years to come and
look forward to posting on your site again next year! All
the posted pictures are beautiful and our one-year-old
daughter has enjoyed them tremendously - thanks! :)

We’ve been decorating for about 20 years. As a veteran, I
quit counting lights and started doing a count down of how
many days I had left to be able to put them up. I can tell
you that there are about 15000 lights on the house alone.
Usually there are about as many in the yard. Most yard
scenes are hand made. Special Thanks to my elves (Wife and
Daughter) for all their help and my neighbors for tolerating
the viewers. See more pictures at

This year I am celebrating my
twenty-second year of decorating, as I started as a 12 year old
in Cincinnati, Ohio. My display this year consists of
approximately 15,000 lights, over 35 figures, and many
custom-made decorations, and complete front and backyard
decorations. Included is a custom- made gingerbread house
complete with animated figurines, and a life-size animated Santa
that sings Christmas carols. New this year is a light display
that spans across Twilight Lane to my neighbor's display,
carolers, and more snow! For the six years I have lived in the
neighborhood, I was sure that I was considered a "nutcase" by
all of my neighbors. However, in the past several years my
neighbors have joined with me in a true bond of neighborhood
celebration. The satisfaction that I have received from seeing
the neighborhood grow closer as a whole has really symbolized
the Christmas spirit for me. The neighborhood consists of
White, Hispanic, Filipino, Asian, and many other ethnicities
who have been brought together in this celebration of the
holidays. Our newest neighbors, an Islamic family from Sudan,
have asked me to decorate their house. I have discussed with
them the idea of putting up a "Peace On Earth" sign on their
house, as a show of support to stop the violence that is
currently occurring in their home country.
In the
troubled times in which we live, it has made all of us happy
to see this group of diverse people coming together in an
American neighborhood during the holiday season. Please feel
free to contact me for any other information, and please stop by
to see our lights! Thank You and Merry Christmas,
Brian

Michael & Margaret of Troy, Michigan
This is my second year of showing off on
Planet Christmas! We're in our 9th year of of displaying
lights. Our display includes over 1,000 C-7 lights,3
inflatable characters and over 10,000 lights in all. I use
faders, 4-channel chasers, magic bulbs and digital
programmers in our display. We start working on it right
after Halloween and finish by the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
The City of Troy has given us an award, 5 years running, as
one of Troy's best decorated homes and last year we won a
special award for "Most Spectacular". It utilizes six 20amp
circuits and three 15amp circuits, all told about 16,000
watts, wow what an electric bill! We have a web page showing
the last three years of displays and video of this year too.

Happy Holidays to all from Fort Pierce, Florida USA.
We are Mike and Cheryl Budnik and we have been putting up
our Christmas displays for over 25 years now. This
year especially we are trying to instill a light heart and
good cheer to our neighborhood and friends after the
traumatic devastation of back-to-back hurricanes this fall.
Prior to last year’s display we had an extra 150 AMP
circuit box installed along with 4 outlets in the yard and 3
in the soffits, currently we are utilizing 8 20AMP breakers
just for Christmas lights. (Will add more this spring).
Our display this year consists of 16,000+ lights, 170 feet
of rope lights, a holographic display on the roof
(which being a metal roof took some very careful doing), 40
illuminated blow mold figures and 4 large inflatable, just
to name a few. You may see more pictures and even
watch our video on our website

Holidays to All, Mike & Cheryl.

Hello all,
This is my first year to find this site and share my
display. I have moved from a city lot to an acre lot and am
still looking to increase the number of lights. I have close
to 50,000 lights and I made all the yard art. I hope to add
more before Christmas. I love doing this every year and hope
you enjoy the photo.

This is the Schrimp Family House
in San Juan Capistrano, CA. This is their 10th year. The focus
is more on animation than light. There is still many thousand
lights used, but the animation and interactive display for kids
is what keep them coming back year after year. |
 |
This is our house in Mesa
Arizona. This year we have 10,000 lights with 16 computer
controlled circuits (LIGHT-O-RAMA). We have 3500 lights
controlled by 6 channels for our driveway tunnel 10 ft high x 14
ft wide x 17 ft long! A 25 foot Super Tree controlled by 4
channels, and one of our favorite things, The "next show" Sign,
which has 250 lights and is controlled by 3 channels. And last
but not least we finally got a nativity set this year. Hope you
enjoy the pictures.

Hi, my name is Garran Sparks at 943

approximately 18 inflateables, several wire frame light up
trees, several wire rope and wire frame displays and Santa
on the roof with all the reign deer and a lot of lights. I
have rope light bordered straw path thru the display for
visitors to admire the display. The display pulls about 110

lights as not all of the lights work.

hi, this is our 2nd year at this house. we have nearly 15000
lights this year.and still growing.
|
 |
My display isn't as grand as some simply because we live
in an apartment. We have a small patio area and a small
patch of grass in front of our townhouse so we decorate
for the complex. We have an inflatable Snoopy on his
Xmas dog house, a santa sleigh on the awning, a few blow
molds, and about 1500 lights indoors and in the inside
windows. For an apartment people tend to think it's
impressive!

Merry Christmas Everybody!
My display is at 1642 Sunburst Way, in Kissimmee. I have
about 40,000 lights, which are all computerized, and are
Synchronized to music using Light-O-Rama. One song that I
have added this year is a patriotic song, in tribute to our
troops overseas. I have made all of my decorations myself.
This year I am also a collection site for the SHARE YOUR
CHRISTMAS food drive. You can see more of my display at my
website,
http://www.christmaswonders.com.

This is our home in
Northeastern Illinois. We add more lights to it every year since
the trees out front just keep getting bigger. I've loved doing
Christmas lights for as long as I can remember. We tend to make
it a family project putting them all up, starting the friday
after thanksgiving. Taking them down isn't nearly as much fun as
putting them up! My neighbors all call us the Griswolds of the
neighborhood. |
 |
First attempt at lighting a 35
foot tall cedar tree. Great branches for lights but it sure uses
up the light strings. I used strings of icicle lights in the
tree and, wow, 8000 lights were used. About 2000 more lights
decorate the eves and roof lines, using icicle and C-7 lights.
"Winnie the Santa Pooh" greets you at the front door and the
great train at the chimney was a present from my next door
neighbor! Merry Christmas All |
 |
Greetings again from across
the Atlantic. Edinburgh has been dry and not too cold this year
which made the job of lighting the house much easier.
This is the fifth year of lighting the house at Christmas and it
seems to make people stop and enjoy it, spreading a little light
on the dark nights.

G'Day,
Here is a picture
of my 2004 display. I live in Saratoga which is near Gosford,
New South Wales Australia on the Central Coast. I have been
doing lighting displays for 2 years now, this is my first year
in this house. There is about 5000 odd lights and about 600
metres of cables and extension cords. I made some of my own
dispays this year from corflu or coroplast, hopefully you can
see them in the photo (Sleigh, Reindeer, Santa Hat and
Snowflake) I also made the giant rred star and yellow christmas
tree from ropelight and aluminium moulding. All up I have spent
about a month putting it all up between shift working and a new
baby in September, can't tell you how long it took me to make
the displays this year, lots of late nights in the garage.
Hope you enjoy it if your passing by!! Merry Christmas

Another entry from Nardian Way in
Westchester, Los Angeles, where we add a little bit to the
neighborhood effort every year. This time, there are
fourteen custom made wire frame presents suspended from a
cable spanning the street, added to Santa and his reindeer
flying over four homes. As always, the spirit
Christmas is expressed in kilowatt-hours! Happy
holidays, Ernst.

This year i believe i broke the
100,000 barrier with about 102,000... i think, it starts to get
a little hectic. The lights dangling from the roof are
controlled via animated lighting older style lc-16 and MB. I
have had the roof the same 2 years in a row now due to not
getting anymore controllers. i hope to post more pictures in the
chat forum with a few more updates of added stuff, it seems like
it's never done. |

My name is Jeff Long and I live in Atco, NJ. This picture
doesn't really do my display justice, took it from far away
and still could not get everything in the picture. Guess I
need a new camera. I have a little over 50,000 lights this
year with several animated ground display's and a 6 ft.
motion Santa on the upper deck. I am hoping with some more
time from my business that I can finally go computerized
next year. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Safe
and Happy New Year!

I'm back and better than ever for 2004. This year I have
over 40,000 lights and a snow machine. The house is trimmed
in blue and twinkling clear C-7 bulbs. Also on the trim are
white icicle lights, blue icicle lights, and the new
snowflake lights. The roof is covered with over 9,000 clear
mini lights. Very "Griswald-esque" in a tasteful sort of
way. There are several deer sculptures and a snowball
tossing snowman. Plans for next year include strobe lights
and a Santa vacationing on the beach scene. I am also going
to shoot for computerized animation.

My name is Jim Martin and I
live in Slidell, Louisiana and I have close to 40,000 lights in,
on and around my house. I built a gingerbread house that stands
5' tall and the chimney actually smokes, I have animated polar
bears, rocking horses and a lit horse drawn sleigh that shoots
out thousands of bubbles. Since we don't have snow down here,
the bubbles are the closest thing to snow flurries and looks
great. |

We are the Temaat family and
here is our display. This is our 3rd year and it features over
14,000 lights complete with a 35 foot long animated tunnel,
guarded by our 7 foot tall nutcrackers. Our design also
features custom made "CD" trees that have lights and give off a
cool effect. Our lighted path to Santa's Workshop, the North
Pole and lighted "fruit jar" sidewalk keeps the area bright.
Spongebob also has the Christmas spirit and Christmas music is
playing to entertain passers by. Hope you enjoy it and Merry
Christmas. |

We are from Fremont, CA and
I've been lighting up my street for about 5 years now. Every
year my daughter and I add something new. I was recently
married, and my husband has since been deployed. I wanted a
little something special in the display just for him. Hopefully
he will feel the love, and get into the spirit of the holidays
since he loves this time of year, and cannot be with us to enjoy
it. It's also great to see all the people pass by and pay
compliments, and let us know they also support our troops
overseas. There are yellow ribbons, the American flag, and the
Blue star flag flying that didn't come out to well in the
pictures. I didn't have enough time to get a great picture. A
special thanks to Carrie for getting me the yard sign in time!

It all started many years ago with one set of 25 c-9 bulbs
and it has grown to over 25,000 lights. With the official
count of 26,950 mini lights, 12 inflatables, 21 blow-molds,
200+ 30" candy canes, 3 animated reindeer, and a 10' star, I
still have one set of 25 c-9 bulbs that takes front and
center in the front lawn. The original plan for this year
was over 35,000 lights, however do to a power overload I
could only manage 26,950 and not one more. I have always
enjoyed decorating the house but the past few years things
beyond my control prevented my from going all out. But this
year I have managed to turn a few heads, stop a few cars and
and make a few kids go ahhhh, which is great. But I am sure
I will be going ahhhhhh when I get the light bill. Have a
GREAT HOLIDAY.
Thanks

These six feet
snowflakes and two snowmen really light up the night in my
cul-de-sac. They consist of about 5,000 white lights. I had a
note in my mailbox from the mom and two kids down the street
asking me to continue because they fell asleep looking out their
windows at night. one lady and her elderly mom dropped by today
to thank me for the snowfall of lights. I will have to continue
each year with this kind of applause in Marietta,GA. Home of

17000 Miniature lights and 52
blow molds. "MERRY CHRISTMAS" FROM THE "MORGANS"
Wakeman, Ohio |
 |
Hello, My name is Dave and I am 13 years of age. I come
from Birmingham in U.K. I have collected the lights over a
period of about 3 years, I think I have about 1000 lights, 4
blowmoulds and about 15 metres of ropelight (including
silhouettes).
On this photo 3 of the blowmoulds are either not up or have
failed, Climbing Santa, Normal standing Santa and Swinging
Santa. The picture does not do the display justice as you
cannot see the 10 metre ropelight outlining a fence and the
200 LED 'Happy Xmas' cannot be seen.
The display is not as big as some of the others, but still I
am only 13 and I can keep building on the collection.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hello from Kenosha Wisconsin. Here
is a picture of our 2004 display. It has grown an
additional 7000 lights this year to a little over 20,000
lights throughout our front and back yard. We even ran
4 new 20 amp circuits to the garage this year to eliminate
extension cords plugged into sockets throughout the house
(Ok, it’s also in preparation for next years planned
additions). Thank you for hosting this site. It
has given us lots of great ideas that we have used this year
as well as ideas we plan to use in next years display.

Greetings from Hurricane
Charley Country. I wanted to brighten up what has otherwise been
a pretty gloomy second half of 2004. Currently there are 40,250
mini lights. I have 22 mini trees with 18 chasing across the
yard. There are 12 arches (six on each side of property) that I
program a different sequence nightly. There is a blinking New
Years ball above an eight foot lighted Happy New Year sign.
Displays include a gingerbread village, 2 nativity scenes, over
100 wooden hand painted yard art displays, a patriotic area,
many sleigh and reindeer displays, two giant eight foot toy
soldiers and many other items. Robin Stublen |

dedicated circuits, Extension cords - 83, Length of extension
cords - 1,535, Watts - 20,172, Timers - 18, Three-way taps -

looking at our display taking pictures and video. Merry

This is our home for Christmas.
What makes our Christmas display so unique is my husband made me
a real snowman. We live in New Orleans Louisiana and we never
get snow way down here in Bayou Country. And these snowmen
never melt, because there is 5 1/2 tons of refrigeration running
to keep them frozen. |

I have about 32,000 lights up,
including a 20ft white cross, a star that towers over the
nativity scene 35ft in the air, a waving and singing Santa and
much, much more. I have a little for everybody of all ages. I
enjoy seeing people come by, and just stop, and smile. Then it
makes all of those hours spent putting these decorations up all
worth it. This display is in Pompano Beach, Florida, so if you
ever here during Christmas please plan on stopping by and saying
hello, because each year we will be getting bigger and bigger.

I have been adding on to our home's light
display for the past few years. This year I have a little
over 50,000 lights and for the first time have started dabbling
in computer controlled displays. We have a number of
static display (A couple of blowups, a Polar Bear with its
bottle of Coke, A family of deer drinking at a pond of blue
lights, Santa's sleigh and 3 reindeer, A skating Santa, and a
Ginger Bread house). I have 23 trees wrapped with over 15,000
lights. My center pieces are a flowing waterfall feeding a
stream and a pond. And a 14 foot Christmas Tree that changes
colors every 6 seconds. Here is a link to another
Christmas site that has more of my photo's posted.

From Whakatane in New Zealand, this is one section of our
display which, for the second year now, is based on an Elves
Theme. About 30 to 40% of the display is taken out each
year and replaced with something new. We have been using a
computer controlled system and for the past two years have
gone just over 15,000 lights. With over 80 channels being
controlled, there is always something happening in the way
of animation, and not just turning lights on and off. The
Toy Factory and Elves' Sleigh alone, uses over 20 circuits.

Home of Lewis Bartholomew and James Derry in Courtenay,
BC. To celebrate my immigrating to Canada, we chose as
this year's theme: AN ARTIC CHRISTMAS. This photo shows
a part of the front lawn with our polar bears surrounded
by blue "water". Above the bears we used "white" LED
lights which glow a nice periwinkle blue and some
regular C9 blue lights. All our dogwood trees are
draped in orange and copper lights, the rhododendrons
and berry bushes along the front of the house are in
pinks, greens and whites. Across the roof line we used
teal, dark blue and purple C9 bulbs. Our tall maple
trees were spotlighted with green, red and blue
spotlights into the branches to give that added Northern
Lights look. The theme continues up our side driveway
and to the back yard. We were able to find lights in
every colour of the spectrum which also represents the
diversity of my new home in Canada. A large 25
foot Spruce "traditional" Christmas tree is all lit up
at the edge of the lawn at the street which can be seen
for 1/2 Km down the road.

The picture did not do any justice to how
the decorations really look. We had been decorating

but worth all the time and effort when we see the sparkle in
the eyes of the onlookers.

lived by the standard that once a breaker trips, it's time to
move on to the next one. Merry Christmas to all! |

This is our first year submitting a picture of our new house
decorated with 24,000 lights, including blowups and blow
molds. In this picture you are not able to see our side and
back yard but they are also decorated. My husband and I have
been putting up lights for 15 years now and look forward to
getting into computerized lights in 2005. We live in LaVista
Nebraska and we entered a Griswold lighting contest this
year but lost to the brother in law! No more advise for
him!. Happy Holidays!

The Buza Family - Binghamton,
New York
Here are three different pictures of our 2004
light display. Over 20,000 lights this car stopper has a seven
speaker surround sound home theater system pumping out the
sounds of The Mark Buza Orchestra and their CD "Because it's
Christmas". If it's too cold outside the onlookers can turn
their car stereos to 95.5FM and listen to it in the comfort of
their vehicle. It's all about attention to detail. We love to
take the commercial and store bought lights and add our own
customization to them. Those reindeer on the deck really do fly
up and down thanks to a homemade motorized system. Santa Claus
always makes a stop on Christmas Eve and gives out candy canes
and listens to last minute gift requests. This is our gift to
the community. May you have a Blessed Christmas and we'll see
you next year. |

Hi all you Christmas
enthusiasts! My name is Don Hill and my display is in Denver
Colorado. My friend Keith and I have been participating in the
Holiday Lights display for six years and each year the display
gets bigger and bigger. This year we expanded into the back
yard because we ran out of room and my wife Chris even got
involved. We have over 50,000 lights, all mini. We gave away
the bigger ones because they pull too much power. We have
several themes going on here, separated by candy cane lanes. We
have the Santa scene, the train and church scene and the
Nativity featured in the center of the yard. In the back yard
we have an old mining town. We use rope lights and inflatables
and wooden hand painted figures. The lights on the house are
controlled by music. Next year we plan to go totally
computerized. Thanks to Chuck Smith. Today we got a card
saying that we had won the Denver light display for 2004. Kind
of exciting, huh? Happy Holidays to you all. Every display
shown is awesome!

We start putting up our lights before Thanksgiving. Every
year we try to add a bit more. My husband has installed a
separate electrical panel to run our Christmas lights. He
tells me we are pulling 188 amps. The lights are controlled
by a master timer and they ALL go on at once...and the
neighborhood dims! We live on a corner and decorate three
sides of our home as well as the median in front of our
home. We even have a few displays in the backyard. We are
in Titusville, Florida. Our display has been chosen as one
of the ten finalists for a display contest on WESH
television here in central Florida. The winner to be
announced 1/1/05. We wish ALL a very Merry and well lit
Christmas. Jack and Donna Lotts

Hi and Happy Holidays...I am a
first timer with submitting a picture, but have been enjoying
all the other ones for some time. I am going for a
Victorian/Winter Wonderland feel in my front yard. I have been
adding every year for about 10 years. I have 6 lamp posts coming
up the center of my lawn, a one horse open sleigh in the middle,
with an arbor with a 6 1/2 ft. twig tree under it and 4 hanging
snowflakes. A small pond to the left with 3 deer's and 6
different trees around it. Also there are 3 10 foot light strand
trees done in 1 green and 2 red. Already have bought some items
for 2005 so hopefully I will be back again next year. Jean

Here are some photos of my parents house in Woodway, Texas.
We have won the Woodway Christmas Decorating contest the
last three years in a row. All of our lighted animated
displays were made by me and my dad. They are out of
plywood with holes drilled and lights inserted. The Santa
going up the roof was the first animated project we did. It
is tethered between our chimney and a tree in the yard. The
last Santa in the sequence is going down the chimney. This
year we added the North Pole around the driveway and a fader
to the large Christmas tree behind Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Plus, a train that is not pictured. We built the US flag,
the ribbon on the tree and the toy soldier after 9/11. We
have been featured on local newscasts and also in the Waco
Tribune Herald on December 26, this year. We have just over
40,000 lights in the display. The trees in the front yard
are covered in 3000 green mini lights. Thanks,
The Chapmans

This is our 2004 Christmas display in Parker, Co. As usual
is a work in progress. The big attraction is the Ferris
wheel as I didn't redo the carousel in time to put out this
year. Have already done the post Christmas critique and
mapped out changes for next year and have started on those.

going. Thanks PlantChristmas. Tyrone Bowie

Greetings! From
Mike and Noel Gabrielli of long Island, Ny. This year was our
first year going crazy on decorating. It is also our first year
in this house. We kind of ran short on time, and my wife and I
only had 5 days to do all this. We still have cases of lights we
didn't get to use. Oh, well!! Although you can't see them in
this picture, we have 10 inflatables, as well as 22,000 lights
displayed. We purchased one controller for our animated light
show, where the lights around our windows, garage doors, front
door, and our 20 arbor vities dance to music in 6 different
colors. To run all of this, we have used over 2500 feet of
extension cords. Next year will be the big year, and we
will be starting much sooner! (Right after Halloween). We will
be adding more lights, shows, different kinds of music, atleast
3 more controllers, and hopefully adding some homemade displays.
We are also adding an FM transmitter (a low powered radio
station). We're even thinking of having a Santa (my wife says it
should be me-big smile)!. We both wish everyone a happy
holiday and New Year, and we hope you enjoyed our pictures as
much as we've enjoyed yours. See you next year! |

OK Chuck! Because it's my first time in many, many eons. I
got sick of not being able to decorate. being in apartments
for long periods of time wears on a person like myself.
this was my first year to try again, haven't been able to do
it due to constraints of space and lack of outdoors. i
still don't have the outdoors like i would really enjoy but
this is a start. who says i can't decorate my balcony.
it's small so it'll be easier to make it the way i want it
if the years treat me well. 2004 was just a basic display
more or less feeling out the vibes. many liked it, some
wanted more. well I also assume that because of this 'test
drive' I'm hoping to see more enthused people at this
complex in the 2005 season. of course I'll have more up and
there'll be some geometry to it instead of just laying
across the wires and having a basic ensemble. I'm also
hoping to include some palms in this deal. I'm hoping to
double or triple the lights and action (include 3 more
trees: one larger pine and two palms) and have a symmetry
happening.
we'll see. I'll shut up now. I'm also thinking of putting
these up on a future site (all about my balcony) since my
balcony is a topic at a local site in town about habitat and
the development happening in the area. (i got a great view
of some construction and my balcony has been known to be a
tropical paradise in the summer :D)
NOW I'll shut up.
