  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

Anyone Know Where To Get These Angels? Looks Like Led Rope Light

Recommended Posts

I saw these angels near me at a display, and want to study them further, they look like maybe LED rope light wire frames, similar tot he angles they use at Disney Osborne Lights. Anyone know who sells this?

Hey Jeff,

Nice chance this year to get some added attention on the GMA contest. Great job. I have one of these and they are from:

They are not rope. They are the LEDs that have the plastic covers over them. Let me know if you need some close up shots.

Wow, thanks Mike! Are they really $200! How many do you have? The main question is can I control the wings to the beat of the music? Or are the wings controlled by the built in controller? I'd love to see a close-up.

BTW, I just won the City of Margate contest, they just called me a few minutes ago. It was great having 3 Planet Christmas people in the final on GMA. Richard Holdman did the sequence for that Jacksonville home. He and I got screwed on the travel Channel special, they showed our houses for maybe 4 or 5 seconds at most, and never mentione our names. But glad they at least mentioned yours. I notcied they wasted way more time on interviewing people in Chicago eating streudel, and the gingerbread contest, but never mentioned us at all, after making me sign all these releases.

jeff, i am not mike, but if they are like anything else cdb sells, they should be able to individually control the wings, if i am not mistaken it would be wings up, wings down, and then 1 channel for the body of the angel... i have a penguin building a snowman and they can be controlled with other than the added controller... hope this helps you in your decisions.... u might want to check out valerie's stuff as well, might be a litltle cheaper.. but not for sure... christmas-leds.com
