  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  5. Silent site?

Every time I come on PC at some point I wonder to myself what happened to all those great folks that resided here for so long. I really do miss the days where a question would be asked and within minutes there would be multiple reply's. The volume of posts had me checking in daily if not twice a day to keep up. I'm not sure where all those good people went but It really is a shame.
  6. Silent site?

For once I was ahead of schedule and up and running on the 1st. Weather has been great but you are right Stephen, I think that is about to change.
  7. Viewing Public Say the Darndest Things

I have a hard enough time getting up all the cords at tear down now......might be tempted to leave a few down if I went with the camo. Better stick with Reinders green spt @ 98.00 a thousand.
  13. 10th Annual Virginia mini

Andy, Have you heard from Al Thompson? Was wondering if he would be there. I really would like to here about his experience with The Great Christmas Light Fight.
  14. Where does time go?

Was thinking the same thing. Does time seem to fly by faster or are we just getting slower. Slower I think. Medical issues last year caused me to stay dark but I'm all in for 2017. more about that in time. Wishing everyone an awesome setup, one that rivals those images that come and go but seldom leave you head.
  15. Candles for sale

Don't have a place to use them thanks. I do know commercial props of that size new sell for between 400.00 and 600.00 each these days and these vintage ones are a look you can't find or have made anymore. What a find.
