  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. Replacement branches for Pom Pom tree

ebay is the only place I have ever seen them.
  2. Lots of Vintage Street Pole Lanterns & Supplies

  3. Help repairing LED string

Well you know the LED lights with removable bulbs are bad quality. Water gets into the sockets and the two wires on the diode causing them to rust and then the entire set of LED lights will fail. I use that type of LED lights myself but I don't suspect them to last for more than a year or two. However I have found the Philips brand LED lights at Target seam to last longer and have less of that problem.
  4. Lots of Vintage Street Pole Lanterns & Supplies

Yes I think they are. I see they are also trying to sell them on ebay for hundreds. I also think its funny he is parting them out as most people would still buy the lanterns even if they are damaged. And why is he selling them for so much as we all know what he paid.
  5. Installing lights on new wireframes

You could cut them off and cap the ends.
  6. As you all may know a lot of the older pole decorations use large A19 colored party bulbs. I recently needed a few bulbs so I got a few of the Westinghouse party bulbs at Menards and was extremely disappointed with the green bulbs. They are NOT green they are more of a teal color. I could not use them, as they are so ugly. I had to change them out for a different brand name of green bulbs. Anyone else have this issue?
  7. Account Question?

  8. GP Designs Blow Mold Candle Parts

I can't see why they can not make this halos? If I wanted a candle with a halo? They look quite simple to make if you know how to weld and bend the metal . I think they where made on (welded on to) a large flat washer that went around the light bulb.
  9. Account Question?

Anyone know how or if you can delete your account?
  10. 2016 GenFoam catalogs

I am not a big fan of all this battery operated stuff they are selling. The designs are cool but, who wants to mess around with batteries? I wish they could get stuff into more stores. Where I live the only stores that have blow molds are: Kmart, Mills Fleet Farm, and Menards. Most of the time they are all selling the same blow molds year after year. I know Wal-Mart sold some General Foam lighted blow molds many years ago but don't anymore (haven't for at least 9 or 10 years). I think it's kinda funny, being Wal-Mart says they support American manufacturers and US made products but yet all the holiday items they sell are mostly made in China????? And they never sell any lighted blow molds anymore.
  11. GP Designs Plasma Art....

I see GP designs is now doing plasma art. Not sure why. But it could be cool if they would use some of the plasma are on the pole decorations. I came up with a mock-up of the pole mounted wreath with a red plasma art deer in the center but they could put just about any Christmas shape in the center. What do you all think? And what do you all think about GP doing the plasma art? Sorry its in a PDF..... Wreath.pdf
