  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. Pixel Coro Poles

How does the cat 5 connect to the end of one length of pixels to another. Thanks again.
  2. Pixel Coro Poles

How do you connect each pole together? And how far apart are they?
  3. Pixel Coro Poles

    Thanks. Very helpful.
  4. Pixel Coro Poles

You have 11 2811 rectangle nodes per pole for a total of 176 nodes. Does 1 pixlite 16 control all of those. I'm thinking 1 channel per pole. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. New and confused

I am new to using rgb lights and pixels. I have been reading up on them and have a pretty good grip on how they work. What is confusing is all the different controllers out there. Dec 512 is confusing because I here it called a univers by some and others say 512 channels. I know that one smart pixel is 3 channels (if I'm rught) and a strip of 170 is 512 channels. Also I here of what's called a 24 channel controller. What is the difference. I'm not sure what to get because I may want to add more strips of pixels or whatever in the future. Please help. Thank you.
  6. How far away

Thank you for your advice. So if I understand correctly I put my power supply close to the pixels and use null pixels to extend the data signal.
  7. How far away

I'm new to using pixels and rgb lights. I want to know how far away I can place my strands from the controller and power supply. My farthest run would be approximately 25 to 30 feet away. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
