  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

My husband has a 48 channel display.
  1. HELP ASAP, Please...

I have not yet, I'm just starting out, thanks for the input. I will look into it. The only other people I have tried was Holidays on Wildflowers, but they didn't have anything.
  2. Hello all, I have a request and I'm not sure where to start, so here I am. My husband has a 48 channel light show with a FM tuned station. Our home is on the route of our city's annual night parade (11/19 this year). We generally draw in a large crowd and win the best decorated house. In the past people have offered to provide donations, but we have never excepted, because we have never had a reason to. However, that has all changed this year. On November 5, of this year, a local police officer was killed in the line of duty in our community. We decided that we would like to dedicate this year's show in his honor and except donations to put towards his memorial that is still being established. We are completely open to suggestions (but we are not skilled enough programming ourselves. Our current train of thought is to find/get a sequence for Amazing Grace (NOT TECHNO) and let families know it is in honor of him and that we would be excepting donations. Therefore, I'm looking to either find a pre-made sequence of someone that can help. If this is something you could help with, or know of another person that can, any insight would be greatly appreciated. If necessary, I can get my husband to create a rough sketch layout and provide it.
