  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  • About my display
Barely starting, very new to this and seeking for advice to do a great display this year
  1. Thank you for the reply, I did try there, they feature a Monster Brain that is newer, all connectors are easy to identify on that one, the one I have is a Circuit board By the way, your display look awesome!!
  2. Hello all, glad I found this great resource for Christmas lighting. Always wanted to do a nice lighting show, even small for my house, but always worried about the cost and all electronics involved, not knowing how to start, but doing something other than just hanging a couple of light robes in my house was always appealing, , then I got myself a Animated Lighting set, that I was told was all I needed, didn't ask much and let my excitement lead me into buying it, and now I'm lost, I have the basic idea of how it works and how to use it, but I'm still lost on some of it, here is a list and pictures of what I got, both pieces come in a enclosure, on one side on the enclosure I have what i believe is a controller, it has 16 power outputs, and 2 to power it, on the other side I have the Monster Brain (Circuit Board) and this is where my questions are, I have a slot for a SD card and one card called Christmas Kit V1.1, my questions are: Where do i find the audio output? How can I get more of this Christmas cards? How can i make my own? Can maybe someone out there sell me a SD card with more (after i figure out how to set it up? Can someone maybe provide me a manual? Trying to do this without using all my kids gifts money! is it possible? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
