  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  2. OK..So Visualizer Stinks

Free tool for LOR Visualizer to arrange pixels into circles or straight lines. You can also redraw a pixel tree or fan. There are three how-to videos on how to use SharpIn. You can download the tool here.
  3. GFCI outlets or GFCI breaker

Having extra circuits from the panel has a benefit for my show. Some props are more likely to trip in the rain than others. They dont draw very much current, but having them on their own circuit and GFCI pair protects the rest of the show from an outage. I like to have my GFCI outside so I can see if they have flipped and reset them without running to the panel in the basement. They can all power and protect other outlets by following the wiring directions on the box. My suggestion is to have each outside receptacle on its own circuit and its own outside GFCI.
  4. The new tool in the set for 2016 is SharpIn. For LOR visualizer you can zoom in to get a closer look and move those tiny dots around. 14. Lawsuits

There was some subtle kidding in there SideTrack. I also posted above about the umbrella. My point is that for 10 years I allowed many 100s of complete strangers into my home with no additional event insurance costs. The umbrella is in force all the time. My insurance agent insisted that as long as I did not charge and any donations were voluntary and 100% to the charity, then it was no different than throwing a party and I would be covered to the limits of my policy.
