  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

Hey q, I used to drink outta lead piped water fountains in school! Look at me now HA. Thats why I always keep spares. Unless its a controller I just replace the lights to keep my sanity. Or fix it after the season. Merry Christmas!

  4. Clark watches old home movies before his wife pulls the hatch. Who cooked the turkey?
  5. Silent site?

On the Florida page there are 2 posts this year. 1 from me and I just saw a new member post. I don't think there is an alternate site, but I tend to agree with the Facebook excuse. LOR has a site, but it's been around since PC. I wonder if PC came out with an app if it would help. Quick access, real time notifications, etc

Thanks been buying from them for 10 years. I haven't heard of your company till this week. I generally buy my C7 & C9 wire by the 500' roll with 12 and 6 inch socket spacing. I haven't looked yet but do you sell smart and dumb ribbon too. I will check out your site. Thanks again

Hey vette, have you tried Action Lighting? I get all of my incandescent and LEDs from them. Here's a link for c6s; https://www.actionlighting.com/50-light-c6-led-weatherproof-light-set-100ledc6504/
  8. Connectivity Issues

Not sure what kind of setup you have. If it's LOR I run 2 networks. 1 network is for 12 1602w a.c. controllers. It runs at 56k. My 2 CCR controllers run on a 500k enhance network. My 1602w a.c. controllers are old and won't run on the enhanced network. Hope this helps. If they are not LOR controllers then disregard. I not that familiar with E1.31 networking yet. Good luck.
  9. Display Dark! Please help!

Kitten, Maybe you can double things up or rearrange your display for minimal negative effect until its fixed. Good Luck! Sorry to hear about your dilemma Craigin. All I can say is I've had 12 -1602w's from LOR for 9 years + and never had a problem. I've had fuses blow but no problems changing them.I do know that LOR support will help fast. I had lightning blast one of my controllers during a show and they overnighted me a new controller before I sent the old one back for repair. Glad your up and running!

Our HDs are out of things that you would use for lighting or in a display. Maybe there'll be a restocking period as it isn't even Dec yet. But by the time the good mark downs arrive there is nothing worth buying. But anywho earlybird gets the worm as they say. PS I'm in the Port St Lucie / Ft Pierce area

Our Lowe's and Home Depots here in Florida are out of everything worth using by then. It's not even worth a trip to the store. The shelves are bare now. I found that online suppliers like Action Lighting, etc offer good discounts.

    Blowmold Heaven!
  13. Needing Toy Sack Sequence

I've purchased sequences from them as well for my CCR tree. Until I was able to create a house and yard sequence for each song I merely had all the lights ramp up to 50% in the beginning then fade down at the end. At least you can play the song until you have time to work on it. Hope this helps. Good luck with your MBA.
  14. Looks like your off to a good start. It would be helpful to see a pic of the yard during daylight. However I usually tell people to add every year, don't clutter, and bring attention to the entire yard. I would find a way to light that big tree up to the top. There are also a lot of top notch videos on this site. I would watch them and get ideas. Hope this helped. Keep up the good work. PS I think in 2s, 4s, and 8s or multiples thereof!
  15. Applights repair

Yeh, what "Duct Tape" said. Hope you get to the bottom of it. Sounds like Duct Tape will hook you up.
