  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. I am selling 4 used CCR controllers, power supplies, and 4 new replacement ribbons. The ribbons are not LOR equipment and require reconfiguring of the RGB channels as they are GBR. The ribbons are brand new and never used for anything but testing to verify operational. I have soldered and sealed the original LOR lead and connector onto the ribbon. $100 each plus shipping. Steve
  2. 12Ccr Tree

Thanks Dennis ! I have those measurements here someplace. I know the ribbons are spaced 12 inches on center at the bottom. I will get them posted this weekend. Steve
  3. 12Ccr Tree

PVC has worked for me for the last 3 years. https://picasaweb.google.com/107186290187585278264/MegaTreeAndStar2012# Steve
  4. Dumb Rgb Strip Controller

I would also recommend these as you are talking about such a small load on the board...........no sense paying for all that extra capacity. I used a bunch that I purchased direct from China and had no issues. I would think you might want to investigate smart strips and save a lot of time on the construction. It would take a lot of DIY work to wire the pixels in an arch. Steve
  5. What Heat Shrink Gun Do You Use?

I just got plain tired of bringing out the corded heat gun and now use my micro torch exclusively and would highly recommend it because of ease of use. Steve
  6. Heat Shrink Tubing

I get mine from ebay. Much cheaper and more color choices. Best deals are the 100 ft. rolls. Small retail size packages are real expensive compared to the bulk roll discounts. Steve
  7. In my circle, your statement makes people jump and get ready to pounce. UL doesn't "approve" anything!!!! They test it and "list" it as meeting the standards. I'm just sharing............not pouncing!!!! Steve
  8. Lights Wanted

I have some red 100 count Walmart lights.............send me a PM with the number you want and an address............I will be happy to quote you a price. Steve
  9. Wire For Rgb Lights

I have used some of this........Cable from ebay Steve
  10. Ccr Troubles

Generally, If the pixels stay on you have a problem with the ribbon. I would try and reset the ribbon by turning off the power, than press and hold the reset button in while turning the power back on. The ribbon should run the test pattern of Red, green , blue. along the entire strip. If it doesn't you better contact LOR to make arrangements for a repair/replacement. Steve
  11. Can you let me know what LED's you have left, I am very interested.
