  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. GFP Closing

Yes it was a joke! I have never bought them myself from EBAY. I am too cheap!
  2. GFP Closing

So CADO would be the only possible company making them? If not, no more new blow molds? Does that mean I can sell my 200 molds for 1,000,000 on EBAY?
  3. Inflatable for sale

Thanks, if you know of anyone please let them know. I wasn't sure on the pricing, thanks for the info.

  5. Your stream was watched in 4 different countries across 28 state regions in 157 cities with an approximate total of 430 viewers.
  6. Why is it always about the number of lights...

I am only running 32 channels, I am don't even count my lights and I hear a lot of comments, saying wow that's cool. I even web streamed mine live this with these stats :Your stream was watched across 22 state regions in 116 cities with an approximate total of 217 viewers. I was in the local paper a few yrs ago, and they mostly mentioned that I was doing it in dedication to special needs children, which I kept emphasizing to the reporter. I don't have the skill set to do large displays, I know my limits and I keep to them. All I know that is my neighbors love them and so do my kids, that's good enough for me.
  7. Sometimes I feel like a Grinch

I almost didn't do a light show, due to my wife's cancer, it's gone and we are at the end of the journey. I was just frustrated with it all, and I always feel inadequate with my show, I was running out of time to get it going. But I dedicate my show to someone every year with a banner, or this year I now project a dedication on a screen with a video projector. This year was for my wife who beat cancer. I am going to continue dedicating it to someone ever year, I have decided I am going to do my best with the little money I have and knowledge I have and do it not for the gory of mine is better than someone else, I am doing it in honor or whom I am dedicating it to. In my mind, it helps me to focus on that, when I am setting my show up.
  8. CCR Mega Tree

So what would the average cost be to make a CCR one sided Mega tree?
  9. Live Webstream of my Lights

104 viewers in 9 days, not to shabby.
  10. Live Webstream of my Lights

I am using an Gopro Hero 2 camera I bought for $100, running HDMI out to a Black magic intensity shuttle https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity, into a MAC mini, and using Wire cast software http://www.telestream.net/wirecast/overview.htm $500, and using a paid streaming service for $35 for the month, it allows 25 viewers at one time.

  12. Ice Skaters

I am in need of some Ice Skating Characters for a Ice rink I am making. Anyone have connections to someone who can make some wood cutouts for me of skaters. I am not that creative to make them myself. Of if you know of anything I can buy.
  13. Christmas 2016 Scene 1

My neighbor made them, with my wife. They are propane tanks. She made them last fall for me while battling breast cancer and surprised me Christmas morning. She is doing great!
