  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. GFP Closing

I’m sure my contact with GFP is more than what you have to go off. They are closing 12/31. The website hasn’t been updated in ages. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. GFP Closing

Nope. No change. They are closing at the end of this month. Auction sometime next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Silent site?

I don’t know who you are on Facebook in BMN, but I can agree with SOME of those people who traveled to GFP. I went and made the 12 hour trip from Florida. Bought a bunch of molds for me and my collection. I’m all for being a blow mold business as I am one. But what those people were doing going here. Snatching them and then flipping them at retail was messed up. As for those at GF losing their jobs, it sucks. I’ve got to talk to a few who had been there for ages. Parents retired from there. 4. Pink Gingerbread Tree

Ted I wondered that as well. Of course no way of ever knowing unless a catalog shows up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Do you have any info on these?

He’s contracting with another company who he won’t share who it is. Last he said Cado and him couldn’t come to an agreement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Do you have any info on these?

I’m going to correct you. There is also Cado who is producing Union molds and a couple others. Located here in the USA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Cado/Union Blowmolds at Menards!

Do believe it’s the Grand Venture one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Silent site?

I do believe it had something to do with the last meltdown. The site was shut down. People put in the TOC for no reason. So after that everyone migrated to Facebook. I have to agree and disagree with Mel though. BMN on Facebook is an awesome place full of knowledge and questions. However since Light Fight and the one episode the judge said molds are “rare” there has been a lot of people joining thinking they have a “gold mine”. Wants to know values blah blah blah. 9. Is this a TPI prototype Santa?

Wow! A Scotty’s ad. Now that’s cool. My grandfather worshipped that place lol. It ended up closing once Lowes and Home Depot came to town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Questioning the age of this blow mold

This is what blow-molded.com says. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Pink Gingerbread Tree

You’re welcome Mel. So I guess we can unofficially say they in fact had a pink set. Just to find that one piece of the catalog lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Pink Gingerbread Tree

Mel, Here are pictures of the bottom of the house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Pink Gingerbread Tree

I’ve noticed that issue as well. Actually those RBLs from Home Depot. The yellow looks lime green. Tomorrow I’ll take some better pics and post. Maybe we can get to the bottom of this mystery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Pink Gingerbread Tree

Mel, I’ll have to look tomorrow. It’s hard to tell right now, but here’s a picture of it lite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Pink Gingerbread Tree

Mel, So can we clarify is YES Union did this set in Pink? I’m hearing from another source that it’s the tan faded. But I’m trying to wrap my head around that lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
