  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. My wife and I have a 48 channel LOR system, using three CTB16PC controller boxes. We use an FM transmitter to broadcast the music, and run a single show consisting of about 14 songs, and some nice "Station ID's" for the radio station. We're both busy people. Don't have the time, patience, or desire to do my own sequencing. Our show consists of sequences purchased from LOR and a couple of other folks. The only ones I've done myself are the sequences for the "Station ID's" which are either :30 or :60 seconds long. Most sequences in our library are either 16 or 32 channel shows. Most also are protected, and cannot be edited. That leaves my third controller, channels 33-48 with very little to do. I'd like to "clone" that controller--and make it mirror channels 1-16. Basically, turn that controller box into an extension--so that I can reduce the length and number of extension cords, etc. This doesn't seem to be possible to do--but then again, LOR appears to be created for engineers-so I may be missing something. Can anyone help out a newbie? I'd be forever grateful! Les & Abby Rayburn Alabaster, AL
  2. Was looking for another CTB16PC controller to add to my show 16 channels doesn't go far lol .I have one now and was looking for a second i you have one or know someone that does contact me please.
  3. Hello Everyone, I'm going to be selling 9x of my CTB16PC controllers. They're all V1, 30 Amp units from WOW Lights/Planet Christmas. I'm doing some final checks to ensure everything working. Asking $175 and buyer pays shipping. I'll reply back with specifics on firmware versions as I test each of them. Happy holidays!
  4. I'm looking for one CTB16PC LOR controller. It can be assembled or still in kit form. Please IM me if you have one available. Thanks!
  5. I have 2 new in box CTB16PC Card Assembled (one opened to look at) and a USB485 for sale. Ive had these for a few years and never incorporated them into my system. Since purchase Ive moved and no longer have any potential use for these so Id like to go ahead and sell it now. Im asking $350 plus shipping for everything. Please contact me if you have any interest or want to make an offer. Thanks Will
  6. Hey folks, Up for sale are 11 Light-o-Rama CTB16 controllers. 7 are in excellent working order, 4 have some blown triacs that could be easily repaired to make them fully functional again. In the attached image, known defects are shown on each unit along with the asking price. I'll be glad to ship to CONUS for actual shipping costs via UPS ground, or local pickup in Blacksburg/Christiansburg Virginia region could work. No warranties or guarantees for anything - these have been purchased incrementally over the last 8 years and have served us well. Anyone interested? Thanks, -daklights
  7. For Sale: 19 LOR CTB16PC's controllers in excellent condition $125.00 each. Location is Bartlett, Tennessee (just outside Memphis). Prices are plus actual shipping and PayPal fees. Will ship to the 48 US states. Local pickup is fine too. If you are going to the Expo in Chicago I can deliver them to you there and save the shipping. This would require payment now to hold them for delivery/pickup in Chicago. The controllers are a mixture of version 1 and 2. All of them have dual weatherproof RJ45 jacks so they don’t need to be opened to connect the data lines. None of the data jacks on the boards are loose or broken, all controllers are in full working order without any bad triacs. All the boards were soldered by LOR and are in the original factory enclosures. All controllers have LOR input cords. Most of them have LOR output cords. There are 3 controllers that have 6’ lamp extension cords for the outputs and another 3 have SPT-1 cords with vampire plugs. I think there are another 3 to 6 that have MonoPrice cords that are very similar to the factory LOR output cords.
  8. Several years ago I had dreams of creating a large animated Christmas display at my parents house. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and it never happened, so I've decided it's time to sell the stuff I bought. Better for someone to get some good use out of it and bring smiles to people's faces, than having it sitting around unused at my place. Everything I have is brand new, and has never been used aside from some playing/testing on the living room floor. Most of it hasn't even been opened. Nearly 65,000 lights, 160 controller channels, FM Stereo transmitter with external antenna...it's all got to go! My preference is to sell everything as a package deal rather than parting it out. Estimated value is in excess of $6000, but I'm selling it all for $3000! Whether you're looking to expand an existing display, or starting from ground zero, getting all this brand new stuff at half price is a heck of a deal! Here's a detailed list of what's included: Mini Lights: 200x - Holiday Time Mini Light Set, 100-count, 23.5', Red lights, Green wire 203x - Holiday Time Mini Light Set, 100-count, 23.5', Green lights, Green wire 20x - Holiday Time Mini Light Set, 100-count, 23.5', Blue lights, Green wire 210x - Holiday Time Mini Light Set, 100-count, 23.5', Clear lights, Green wire 13x - Holiday Time Mini Light Set, 100-count, 24', Clear lights, Green wire 2x - Holiday Time Mini Light Set, 100-count, 23.5', Clear lights, White wire ----- Light-O-Rama Equipment: 10x - Light-O-Rama CTB16PC 16-channel Lighting Controller 1x - Light-O-Rama USB485B USB Connector with Voltage Booster ----- Transmitter: 1x - Ramsey FM30B Digital FM Stereo Transmitter Kit (assembled/tested) 1x - Ramsey TM100 Professional 88-108MHz Antenna w/50' RG-58 cable ----- Miscellaneous: 4x - Holiday Time Flood Light Holder, 6', Green wire 4x - Holiday Time Minature Fuses, 125V, 3A, 6-count 10x - Lites Up Mini Light Suction Cups, 20-count ----- I live in Denver, Colorado, however about 3/4 of the light sets are currently stored in Nebraska, so upon purchase, I will need a few days to go pick them up.
  9. Hi Group, I had a mouse get in my controller box last year and looks like the controller is toast. In need of one CTB16PC either built or in kit form. I just need the bare controller board or full complete kit. I do not need cables or a box. Please IM if you have one for sale. I can pay very quick with PayPal. Thanks!
