  • Christmas 2017 countdown has begun. Most people reveal their displays the day after Thanksgiving. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  3. Instead of re-gifting that CD of Lawrence Welk's Polka Classics that your Aunt Mable gave you for your birthday, use it to brighten your Christmas lights. Here's how. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffcarter629/36498939894/in/[email protected]/

Looks like your garland would be great to re-wrap municipal decorations!
  5. Brightest C7

pricey but 200 lumens and not directional. Its like the one Q posted from home depot but not as bright i use this for my Bedside lamp works great. Bulb is large but for a blowmold that may be a good thing https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/vintage-led-light-bulb-shapes/led-vintage-light-bulb-t8-shape-radio-style-candelabra-led-bulb-with-filament-led-2w-dimmable/2146/#tab/Specifications this website has a bunch of options just search E12 if you are interested

Too funny Big J...I sent em a PM and said the same thing! I do own one of the standard 7' sizes and hang it on my 8' garage door. I simply tied longer cords on the bottom aluminum clips to the tension springs and it works great. The perfection in me wishes it went all the way to the ground. I have led floods that illuminate it. MyDoorDecor....I would recommend adding pics of the mounting clips to your site or a short video showing how it hangs. Quality attachment hardware and it goes on very easily. I usually hang it all by myself in a few minutes.

We are out of our hardware inventory for about 2 weeks now due to demand. Once we get our next delivery of hardware, we should be good to go for the rest of the holiday seasons 2017. With that said, any order should ship out within 2 - 3 days once inventory arrives. Thanks for your message!
  14. Clearing out some stuff. Ran across 10 strings of red, white, blue incan minis. 100-ct 23.5' lighted. Some of them are brand new and some were used only indoors a couple times. Looking for $2/string. The are packed in a large USPS flat-rate box ($20 shipping). Any takers?
  15. Recommendations on LED Light Vendor Online

I actually purchase from a variety of sites depending on sales and availability. Walmart seems to be the cheapest price wise and I've had good success with lights lasting. Also purchased from 1000bulbs.com. Don't think a lot of the LEDs I've purchased can dim/ramp effect with LOR, but I can still create a lot of effects and make a great show. Also, check before buying because newer LEDs don't allow you to change the bulbs if they go bad.
  16. 15A controller #04 sold. I still have the following for sale: Controller 1 is a CTB16PC G3, 30 amp. This is in the larger style LOR enclosure that features a rubber seal. $200 Controllers 5 and 6 are CTB16PC V1, 30 amp units. These have Waterproof RJ-45 / Ethernet connectors installed and include the screw in ends for your Ethernet cables. $175 Controllers 05, 06 are CTB16PC V1 boards, currently set up as 15 amp units. Both of these have Waterproof RJ-45 / Ethernet connectors installed in the bottom of the case, but I do not have the screw in ends for the cables for these units which seals them. However, they are exterior plugs so you never have to open the case and they are on the bottom so moisture will not accumulate. These have 1x power cord going in which makes them 15A units, however, all have V1 boards that are rated for 30A (written on boards) and have the large heatsinks so you could convert them to 30A units simply by adding another power cord. Additionally, these also have extra long outputs (20"). $165
  17. You are welcome. BTW I did purchase my first FM100 preassembled. Never had any trouble.
  18. Thanks Brad. Great perspective and information. Nice of you to take the time to respond. Yes it helps for sure.

  21. After going through a few previously used transmitters I now use 2 Ramsey FM100B transmitters for my display (one back up) for almost 8 years now. I researched it and then put it to the test. The in car sound is great! Broad banded audio stable carrier frequency. Also, staying within FCC regs. the transmit footprint propagates excellent clean audio over the entire frontage of our display. We are in the country and the transmitter is along way off the street and the FM100B makes up for it. I also like the “sort of” mixer. It allows 2 sources to be mixed for output. Two concerns; #1, I wish it had native RDS. I really would like to add RDS to my display transmission someday. You can do it by home brewing into the IF circuit. For reasons to be covered in concern 2 I don’t want to hack up the PWB. #2, As of 1 Jan.’16 Ramey Hobby Kits has discontinued manufacturing transmitter kits. http://www.arrl.org/news/ramsey-kits-calls-it-quits What is out there are the remaining kits in the supply chain. I hate to see the support go for such fine radios. Hope this helps. Brad

  24. Brightest C7

Yup, that's the one, all other C7 bulbs look to be 4 watts. Thanks for the heads up, they are kinda pricey,.
  25. Brightest C7

Hey Shane, the sku is 3539735, tried one and was SUPER disappointing. Gonna use 15 watt incans for the soilders. I know it's alot of wattage, but til the manufactures get there heads screwed on straight, the LED white or warm white isnt bright enough ,in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, they put out light, BUT very directional!!
