re-PLUS 2009 Saturday Evening Activities
The re-PLUS 2009 event centers around Saturday, August 1, 2009 during the day at
the Hyatt Regency in downtown Louisville but when the work is done it's time to relax! We're
going to hit Louisville's
Fourth Street Live!
How far is Fourth Street Live from the Hyatt where we'll be all day
Saturday? Walk out the front door of the Hyatt, turn left and Fourth
Street Live is exactly a one minute walk. If it's raining, take the
sky bridges (look for the signs) and don't worry about getting wet, Fourth
Street Live is under a canopy.
Rather than tell you about the wonders of Fourth Street Live, it's up to you to read about it on their
website.
To save you a little effort we snagged a few reviews off the Internet.
I
have never had such a wild, amazingly fun, in your face night out in
a very long time. I imagine Vegas is like this...
My friends
and I went to see Ralphie May last week in the recently open Stand
Up Live on 4th Street. It was soooooooo much fun, we had a blast
just as we were expecting. Due to the delicious food, we felt we had
a complete experience. We can't wait to come back for another show,
we still have a lot of things to try from the menu.
This is a
nearly unimaginable area in Louisville! If you can picture a blend
of New Orleans, Boston, and a little of any other big city culture
all packed into one block - and if you like that kind of thing -
it's a must do in KY!
Take a break at the hottest venue in
town. Fourth Street Live occupies an area of downtown once filled by
a sleepy indoor mall. The lively space now entices visitors back to
the heart of the city. Don't miss a pin-popping good game of bowling
at Lucky Strike Lanes, and grab a burger at Hard Rock Cafe. Peruse
Borders for books by local authors, and then take in a show at Howl
at the Moon. (from
Southern Living)
4th Street Live is located
in the heart of historic downtown Louisville almost right across the
street from the Convention Center. This place use to be a outdated
mall called the Galleria, but was reconstructed into an open-air
entertainment district that extents two square blocks. This place is
close to waterfront park, numerous hotels, and Slugger Field. There
are many wonderful restaurant located in and close to 4th Street
Live, including TGI Fridays, Red Star Traven, and Hard Rock Cafe.
There are many bars and clubs as well. Upstairs is a food court ,
with Subway and Wendys, where you can get a quick meal. This place
does not have a lot of retail amenities. There are only Borders,
Fashion Shop, Verizon, Cool shades , with a few others stores. The
parking garage is free on weekdays after 6:00 p.m. Valet parking is
offered on weekends from 6:00p.m. to 4:00a.m. This is a great place
to go on weekends, because during warm weather there is usually a
local band playing on the street . |

Where is this magical place? It's a half block from the Hyatt
Regency. If you were with us at lunch time you already know what all
the excitement is about.
