Chris Hewitt. Switching on the Christmas lights here in the British county of Surrey on the first Saturday night in December has become a real tradition, such a part of family life that it’s easy to forget sometimes what the true meaning of Christmas is really about. While the rest of the UK is putting away their BBQ’s our house and many others in supreme confidence turn the volume up on its holiday festiveness. It is the ultimate expression of ‘razzle dazzle’.
There is nothing worse than watching the gray clouds move in, with the knowing you won’t see or feel the heat of the sun for another five months. The feeling really is doom and gloom, so to find a little glitzy house celebrating the return of winter gives you a sugar coated mince pie rush of optimism that nothing other than maybe a glass of mulled wine could manage.
Our house and many others across the British Isles make such an effort in brightening the otherwise dull streets of cold winter months. And it really works. Redhill, South East England

ROBOLIGHTS is not only officially the Largest Residential Light Display In The US, it is known as the most unique light show found anywhere setting itself as an international legend through numerous media publications and I was most recently featured on Conan O’Brien in 2010. What happens when you combine Santa Claus & Robots? Though ROBOLIGHTS is not a celebration of Christmas, it is a massive whimsical futuristic winter wonderland set in the North pole. Built by artist Kenny Hassan Irwin. Started in 1986 at age 12, I wanted to create a physical wonderland of lights combined with fantasy of imaginary other worldly north pole themes run by robots. The display features a life time’s worth of monumental and variety complex art that spans thirty years from the time I was very little.Though ROBOLIGHTS is an extraordinary experience for people of all ages and back grounds to inspire imagination and creativity in people as well respect for the limited resources of our world. When you step into ROBOLIGHTS, You are taken into a parallel universe walking through immensely long zig zagging pathways over 4 acres that lead up to 230 giant robots, A 50′ tall Santa Claus plus five other mega inflatables of my own design & huge displays everywhere, rocket sleds, an amusement park with 300′ roller coaster and art created out literally close to a kiloton of our family’s & our business’s old & neighbors whom donated junk that would have otherwise ended up in a land fill plus an apx 8 million lights as of 2012. More than any other residential light display in the nation spanning four acres. Palm Springs, Californiahttps://www.facebook.com/ROBOLIGHTS

Miss Sylvie SimmsOne of the best parts about the holiday season is the Christmas lights. Whether it is decorating your home using the best LED Christmas lights or going out to see the craziest houses in your hometown, it’s fun to see what creative Christmas lovers can come up with.Using LED rope lights to decorate for the holidays is not only affordable and energy efficient but there are a number of other benefits as well. Safety is a big concern when it comes to holiday decorations, and LED lights don’t give off heat, so you don’t have to worry about trees catching fire. LED rope lighting is nearly impossible to break and is also rust proof, so the lights are perfect for outside decorating. We have created this infographic to showcase some of the best places to go see the holiday lights as well as some fun displays around the world for you to see.City of Industry, California http://www.thelashop.com

Mr. Sam Widdall. We started decorating in 1986 and have been adding every year. Some of our decorations have lasted since then. In 2001, we decided to add a live Santa to try to bring a special smile to everyone’s face. Santa is out every night but Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 passing out candy canes and waving at all the passersby… I started computerizing in 2010 and am now up to 48 channels. We have a military and police memorial display as well. This year Mrs. Claus joined me outside and really added much Christmas cheer – especially to the little children who were somewhat afraid of Santa. I’m looking forward to next year already… Highland, IN
