Modifing LED Strings?

Coming from an electrical engineer standpoint, I wouldn't splice premade LED strings together. There are few things involved in LEDs that make them stand out from incandescent light strings.

You need to pay attention to polarity, resister wattage, and forward voltage. Its a little more complex than cutting wires, and splicing them together with electrical tape of heat shrink tubing.

Yeah, I was asking this exact same question back in early November. The response was unanimous, "I wouldn't recommend it". It's not like a $1-$2 string you are messing with and don't mind if you have to chuck it.

If you are buying LED strings for $1.00 or $2.00, let me know of the source, because I'll buy their entire inventory.
