Randaling 0
Hey yall, are you planning on doing another group buy on these M16's anytime soon? Unfortunately, I didn't see the string for the group buy until today. I was looking around on the internet and you can't beat these prices. Heck, you can't afford to do it at some of the prices out there. Ryan
circus4u 0
Now that the MR16s are due in shortly, I need to get a power supply for them. Can't remember, are these AC or DC? Old age setting in!

Can't remember, are these AC or DC? Old age setting in! They will work on both AC and DC. Most folks are using an old PC power supply. You can get those from eBay or allelectronics.com. If you plan on controlling them with LOR or Dlight thenuse their DC controller board and a PC power supply. Figure how big a PS you need my multiplying .167 amps (at 12 volts)times how many MR16's you have. http://www.christmasinkent.com/HowTo.htm

Once I ship I will know those charges and be able to send you an invoice. You can pay with PayPal (I will add PP charges) or you can mail me a check. Kevin

wirekat 1
OK folks. Don't know if you read the other thread so here goes. The Easy folks in China sent us the same MM16's as GBII. These are ones that have trouble dimming. The solution is to use a resister. Here's the video of red and green MR16's with and without the resister. http://www.christmasinkent.com/Videos.htm You might have to turn up the volume to hear my ramblings but in a nut shell: Maybe it's just me but the MR16 with the resister looked brighter on my ceiling than the one without. You decide. If you plan on dimming these you will need to put a 22 ohm resister in series with one the leads of the MR16. The dimming will be different than with your other lights in your show. They dim best from zero to about 50%. After 50% there is little noticeable difference. I dealt with this in last years show by just changing the range of dimming for the MR16 vs the other type lights in you show. This should be easy with LORII as their interface now allows multiple dimming ranges. I am including one resister for every MR16 so you should be good to go once you receive your order. Of course you'll need a power supply and controller and some sort of enclosure and some sort of cover for the MR16's since they are not weather proof. Easy as they say.... WWNF911 0
Just curious Tony, I'm not that far along. Did your testing use an AC or DC power supply? I know Kevin said we could use either. Has anyone compared to see if one gives better results than the other? Thanks Leon

Thanks Leon I think someone said that you have to use DC if you want to fade them using LOR.

That is correct. You would need a DC power suplly to use either LOR's or L-Dight's DC board.
