Cameras...UGH And some Audio...

Recommended Posts

Jeff,

I have some QSC48030 and they seem hot to me. I don't think they'd need a "warmer" as was mentioned in a previous post.

Are they hot enough to keep from icing in SD? (Or are yours in a protected area?)

Chuck,

Mine are mounted under the eves right out in the weather. I noticed they were warm as well when I was playing with them in the house. I think this helps in their operation in the cold.

The confusing thing about these cameras is the specs are what the manufacturer thinks. After having purchased a couple of these I think what matters is what "you" experience and think.

I have one with 520tvl that doesn't have as good a picture as the 480tvl model. Now not as good is when you can see them both side by side. Other than this they both look good. Of course one is a dome and one is note so this might also matter.

This is the dome I have. I bought it off eBay and I'm not sure of the price.

I have also been looking at this one. Better ? Who knows as there are a billion different cameras out there.

I would like a ptz. That would be fun to have during the show. Any recommendations? :D

Both the domes above are outdoor rated. The Gadspot model is verifocal and this can be a nice feature when you need it. This is something I like vs the Q-see model that has a fixed 6mm lens. This limits the viewing angle compared to the 3-3.6mm models.

I have considered a 16mm model so I can see my donation box better. This something that a PTZ would be nice for.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well the PC finally arrived yesterday. I got everything up and running last night.

I thought I had the motion detector areas set up pretty well. So this morning I enabled the email notifications. Suddenly at 8:30 AM the emails started to fly. By the time I came home at lunch I had 600 emails . Apparently, wind chimes are something you want to exclude from the motion detection. The sun must have hit them at 8:30.

Wind chimes weren
