chowell 0
Just checking in with everyone. I have felt a wave of emotions so far. First I felt like I was way ahead of schedule, then a couple of days later felt rushed, now feeling good again. I have one more snowflake out of seven to install on the house, then I'm off and running on all the yard stuff....which is all pre-manufactured and just needs installed, with exception to my mega tree. The mega tree is 32 channel, 2 color so it will require some time. I'm hoping to be all plugged up no later than Friday next week so I have a week of testing and tweaking prior to lights on Thanksgiving night!!! How are you all doing thus far? Still have to drag out the rest of the molds and set them up, then all the menial things that needs to be done (run cords, set up controllers, check ampage, ect). So I think (hope) I am din ok. snoop 10
I have fallen way behind schedule!!!! I can see some long nights ahead. I have only finished programming 2 songs! Just started on the sub panel box today. Haven't started on the tune to sign, but I did pickup all the materials today. I have not started wrapping trees in the front yard. I haven't started electrical panel upgrade in the house or bought the materials. Almost finished 2 24channel controllers, half way finished 2 16 channel controllers, haven't started the other 2 24 channel controllers ( I have 4 Renard 24's and 2 Renard 16's) I have a lot to do before Dec 5th. OOHHH, and I haven't started the mega-tree or the 4 arches. :eek:WOW! When I write it out I didn't realize how much I have to do.

Jason Rose 0
My list is getting checked off... Most of my "big" time consuming items are done... Other than wiring the other 3/4 of my display Most all of the rest of my display in my front yard is pre-assembled and just has to be placed in the lawn, carefully... Still will take a lot of time getting things nice and straight, etc. Then I have a backyard display to set up as well! haven't done anything at all back there, and it's going to be controled by my 12 channel Gemmy controller. I have a LOT of work ahead of me still, but I'm stoked to see the end results. I've been doing christmas displays for YEARS, and other than the last 2 years with first the Mr. Christmas, and then the Gemmy, I've always been 'static'. Jumping to 80 channels of LOR this year, after thinking I was going to be 48, is really mind boggling. I have a TON of cords, and a couple thousand feet of Zip cord, and I'm quickly realizing that I did NOT over buy when I got another 1,000 feet of SPT1 this year! I'm VERY thankful that I knew as much as I do about computerizing a display (thanks to PC) prior to getting into this!
magii 10
I have two of four controllers out, most of the hard stuff is done. I have the 12' Mega tree with 2' Bethlehem star up, tested, and running. I have both strings up on the roof, 2 hours and 400 clips later, and the 4' snowflake under the eave. I also managed to re-paint the entire front of the house yesterday, prior to setup, and bagged 27 yard waste bags full of leaves from 4, 60' tall trees as well as cleaned all the gutters. As a last minute change, I finished two 4' tall mini trees wrapped with 4 colors as a backup to the LED floods in case I can't figure out how to power them all. Oh, and I re-painted and re-striped 9 PVC candy canes I rescued off of freecycle. I still have the arches to put out, my snowmen and all the twiggy trees, the presents under the mega tree, the wreaths on the house, two more controllers, and about a dozen or so snowflakes. So far we're on track for our "Go Live" night the day after Thanksgiving. Good luck everyone!!!
nmonkman 0
Well we got the mega trees done. That took 1.5 days. There are two with 96 sets of clear on both, 96 sets of read on one and 96 sets of blue on the other. Thats 38,400 lights alone. Also got the tops of the palm trees done. That itself used to take a day but it only took about 3 hours with the help of a lift instead of a ladder. Next weekend starts my vacation so that will give me 7 full days to work on every thing else. The roof will take 2 days. There is around 22, 000 lights up there. I eliminated some lights this year but with the arches it should stay close to 100,000 +-.
Carrie Sansing 0
I started the roof yesterday and worked some more today. I've gotten 2,400 LEDs up there, 16 angels, and 4 wireframe double bells. Got the angels wired and the LEDs wired, still have to get the 5' Santa up on the chimney and get the controller up there. So far so good..

kedogn 0
Just today I got the rest of my display out (all of the things that are connected to the controllers), I still have several static items to get it. I should have it all plugged in and ready to start testing by Wednesday night.
magii 10
Just finished "almost" everything up this weekend. It looks like an Elf threw up Christmas all over my front yard. :giggle: I still have a few more twiggy trees to make and the radio sign to finish, but I think I should have some time over Thanksgiving break. Happy set up everyone!
nmonkman 0
Mine is not going as well as I anticipated. I got my reindeer out for the roof orchestra and half of them have bad strings that I had to replace. Then I got the instruments themselves down and half of those werent working. ARRRRGGHHHH. I put those off to the side to redo at night and went to the mini trees. I thought I had them in the right spot, but when I went to run the cords they were all 1 foot too far for the cords. I stayed up til midnight re-doing the rope light on the instruments and now it is almost 6 am and waiting for the sun to come up or the earth to lower actually. Looks like it will be another down to the wire year.
chirstmasfan123 10
right now I'm testing all of the lights this week and should get all of them up by the end of this weekend at least we hope:giggle:

nmonkman 0
Okay, took a break for lunch. Going a little better today. I got the mini trees moved back and secured so that the cords will now reach. Started on the roof lights about 2 hours ago. 1200 down, 21000 to go. :giggle: I think I am going to run all my cords last. I can do that even if it gets dark. Except for the stuff on the roof. No fun being up there in the dark.
trickytransam 10
Completed: Roof is Done. Wreaths are up. Candlebras in window To Be Completed: 40+ foot pine Side trees Shrubs Inside tree Inside decorations I'm not putting out my blow molds this year. I'll wait till things pick up. Less temptation for thieves. I need help with my Pine tree, and I do not have the energy to do it this year. My car was totalled out by a careless 20 yr old, and with my back being all messed up, I don't think its wise I swing in the wind with extention poles, on top of a 15' extention ladder Lifts in Mid-Mich are just out of price range. $150.00 for 4 hours. Flanigan 2
Candlebras in window Is that some new decoration from Victoria's Secret? Might go well with a Leg Lamp.:giggle: Everything is up (and working!!) with exception of the other Mega, and five minis that need rewelding. Nothing like that "11th Hour Rush" adrenaline high.
