btw - each of the lights (or "nodes" as they call them) in mrpackethead's tree are individually addressable so it's more flexible than CCR. Read more here...

I thought the CCR's were individually addressable... (other than the fact there are 3 LED's per pixel, for brightness...)

That is similar to galaxia's product, which is already out on the market. Each node is individually addressable there as well. You basically hand the lights and take a picture of the object. The picture is used as input into the program as to the exact location of each light. Then all you have to do is take a movie of something and import it. There are also built in effects... I think Century also has a similar product as well. And it is not cheap - 3 to 4K. A tree like that would be more. While it is a cool effect, 4K buys a lot of stuff (controllers, cords, lights, etc.)
