RobertB 14
I see the other thread has been closed on this. Ok. Is the "infamous" coupon still working at Lowes? http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=33927081&postcount=272 I see that Lowes has these for $3.88. http://www.lowes.com/pd_20646-25734-90012LO_4294801364_4294937087_?productId=3093061&Ns=p_product_prd_lis_ord_nbr|0||p_product_quantity_sold|1&pl=1¤tURL=%2Fpl_String%2BLights_4294801364_4294937087_%3FNs%3Dp_product_prd_lis_ord_nbr|0||p_product_quantity_sold|1%26page%3D4 Wow...long url. Anyway....I may go buy up some if it is still good. Robert
carsonsig 10
it worked for me a while back.. I bought 12 boxes at least... however most lowes have no lights at all let alone LEDs left anyway... so it is a bit moot....
Apache Lights 10
Those particular lights sold out in my area within two weeks of going on sale, and I drove to four Lowes today looking for the 40% off all holiday items deal. Not a single box of lights left. All I ended up with is some flood light holders. Very disappointing. I believe the coupon is valid through the 24th, if you can find something go for it. dougd 0
I guess this answers your question. I am sure this will condem me by some in the Christmas light community, but I thought I got a good days haul. 4 lowes total, by now they knew they had to ring up 1 set of lights at a time to make sure they got the credit from GE. Those papers on top are all the reciepts, took me over 30 minutes to check out at one store.
Maxxlights 10
AWESOME!!!!!!! Great haul!
carsonsig 10
nice job doug... as was said above, I have been to every lowes I know of... and no one has jack left... their site is crap too as far as trying to check stock...
RobertB 14
My wife informed me today, "YOUR CUT OFF!". That wasn't very nice ;-) Still going to work on her. There are 40 boxes at one store and 20 at another of the cool white 50 count. I really need some of those RED C9's I see there. I wonder 1) how bright are they, 2) do they dim well, 3) how much were they? I really need some RED for my bushes, gutters...and really need some for my mini trees, but might have to wait on those. Can't convince how much money I would be saving ;-)
Will Sanders 0
The C9s aren't going to be very bright as with most C9s at big box stores. The GE's dim well for me, although I am mostly using C5s, M5s, and net lights. Will Sanders
Tonails 10
Found some at the local Lowe's here. They were 40% off plus the coupon. However they limited me to 10 boxes only. The manager seemed concerned that I was ripping someone off. Not sure how that could be the case. That being said : 10 boxes of the 50 count micros at 88 cents each. I plan on hitting them tomorrow for more, assuming that manager is not on duty. LOL
dougd 0
I also paid 88 cents for all the lights except for the few C9 lights I bought, they were $1.18. Well I definatly over spent, but who can pass up LED's for under a dollar. The managers in all the stores I went were perfectly OK with the coupon, seemed familiar with it in fact. Like I said the worst part was ringing up 1 set of lights at a time.
rameyg 10
Here's what I experienced with the GE coupons! Earily Friday morning I stopped by Lowes and say they had reduced lights by 40% so I immediatly went home and picked up a stack of $3 GE coupons and headed for Lowes. We have three stores within 20 miles of my home. At the first store I got 17 sets of cool white C7 for $.88 each. This Lowe's was out of minis and the choices was C7 or C9. Traveled to the second Lowes and was able to get 7 sets of 100 ct minis 1-blue and 6 red at $3.88 each. also picked up 6 Red C7, 6 Blue C7 and 1 cool white at $.88 each. They had the 50 ct cool white at this store but I didn't want to over do it and thought I would go to the Lowes closest to my home for my final purchase of LED's. Upon arrival at the Lowes about 4 miles from home I went straight to the Christmas section and could only find C7, 6 in Red and 6 Blue so I took these to the checkout with $3 coupon in hand and after the casher and floor manger had a discussion behind closed doors the cashier came back and told me that "I could not use the coupons with any other discount." so I was not able to use the coupons at this Lowes. I had to go across town today and decided to stop by the second Lowes I went to on Friday. They still had lots of C7 and C9 in white and color along with about 14 sets of 50 ct cool white. I took a box of twelve to the check out and showed the head cashier the coupons and she honored them and was able to buy the sets for $.88 each. The bottom line is it just depends on who waits on you at the checkout and if they happened to be having a bad day. Lowes is not out of anything by accepting the coupons and I believe some of the cashier just don't want you to be able to buy the lights so cheap. tboyce 10
Are these full or half wave? There is a store 1/2 hour from me in a not so good neighborhood that shows a lot of stock. Kind of makes sense. I was thinking o getting some icicles and some strands to wrap arches with. Not sure if there is enough stock for mini trees or bigger bulbs for a mega.
RobertB 14
These are full wave. Take a look at my videos on my website www.burtonchristmaslights.tk and you will see the same ones on the bushes in the back ground. Really bright. I put one line of incandescents shoved into the bushes on one side and a snubber on the other side to help a little more with the dimming. Work great. Wish I had gotten more. Bought out one store (28 boxes) and then my wife sent me back for multis at another. Grabbed a few more boxes to make it an even 24 boxes from that store. Manager balked at it, but allowed the 24...so not sure if I could have gotten more. Went to another store a couple of days ago to get more...manager said that the cooperate office had sent out an email saying NOT to honor those. She would allow ONE coupon for ONE box...that was it. I just put the 20 boxes back. I think this was mentioned (about the email) in some other thread some time back...I think.
Bill Hoffman 7
Unfortunately, I didn't have the same luck with my local Lowes. I went in with coupons in hand and found some leds I need for next year. Took one up to the check out to see if they would honor the coupon, along with the 40% off. The girl called someone else to the register and she said that Lowes doesn't accept manufacturer's coupons with already marked down items. I argued a little, but it was useless, so I came away empty handed. Oh well, hoping they still have them when it goes to 60%. Bill
RobertB 14
Everything at our store is ALREADY at 60%. The owner of "Chick-fil-la" lives here in my town. Came in and bought just about all their Christmas Trees, offered $1000.00 for almost all the blowups they had left. Apparently, he does this every year. Not sure if that is what sparked them to go ahead and mark stuff down or not. I picked up 7 25ft extension cords with 3 taps on them for $4.79 each :-) Oh yeah...the 60% off was off their "first of the season" on most of the lights. So their 50 count GE's LED's were...$3.88. They go to 75% on the 26th.
dougd 0
60% off didnt work in my favor last night, I had hoped the next mark down was going to be 50% off. I had purposely not bought some C9 leds at 40% off. I went into lowes last night to see if they were still there and they were. The problem was at 60% off they were less then $3 and so I couldnt use the coupon. The store manager said they could mark the at 40% off though and I could use the coupon. I am still not complaining though.
pbotz2000 10
WOW what a cluster you know what. I was at lowes this morn blown some cash on leds and found this 3 dollar off once i got to work. I shot over during work hours and printed like 40. I was aiming at 50ct micro leds and 25 ct c7 multis that i bought this morn and cost 3.88 each. Well to my supprise they were now 2.89 a box, so i could not even use this coupon . I had to get something,,,, so i loaded up with 12 100ct micro leds c7-multis 50 ct- 2 boxes c5- red and 1 blue- 4 boxes, well as expected i recieved oppostion at the register to use these, and the manager came over and was only going to allow me to use one only ,not per box. I told him others are using it with no problems and asked him to honor it this one time. He agreed and allowed the cashier to proceed. Well on top of that the casher messed up several times and it got hairy to say the least. Somehow or another after 20 minutes he just gave me all the boxes for 3 bucks each, total tax and all was 57.25 how did i do? Was a bit of a mess using them, but i was sucessful this time. Wish i had seen this coupon a few days back since i have purchased at least 14 sets of ge lights since than. Thanks to the finder of this gem. FlEagle 10
Anyone know if they are bringing the coupons back this year?
Apache Lights 10
They couldn't get rid of them fast enough last year, I can't imagine they'll make that mistake twice. Stranger things have happened though.
