Did you know?
  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.
  • The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and the red berries the blood he shed.
  • The three traditional colors of most Christmas decorations are red, green and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Christ, green symbolized life and rebirth, and gold represents light, royalty and wealth.
  • Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.
  • The oldest artificial Christmas trees date back to the late 1800s and were made of green raffia (think grass hula skirts) or dyed goose feathers. Next the Addis Brush Company used their machinery that wove toilet brushes to create pine-like branches for artificial Christmas trees that were less flammable and could hold heavier decorations.
  • ‘Jingle Bells’ – the popular Christmas song was composed by James Pierpont in Massachusetts, America. It was, however, written for thanksgiving and not Christmas.
  • Coca-Cola was the first company that used Santa Claus during the winter season for promotion.
  • Hallmark introduced their first Christmas cards in 1915.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

LED's showed up today.

And I had a very small order :)

Burn-in tests have started.

I did order 2 strings of the Warm Candle White. As I have nothing to compare them to except some old Pure white, All i can say is that they do have a gold/amber tint to them and are most certianlly NOT the winter white color

Okay, so I am in the US and ordered 136 strands of lights. It seems like I should have received my order by now. Ryan hasn't updated us in two weeks and I sent an email over a week ago with no response. Please let me know what's going on.

I am having a hard time contacting him too. I don't know what is going on over the last two weeks but comunication has gone way down and It's a little hard to keep the faith when your June Pre-order still isn't shipped the last week of August.

Here's hoping everyone get's what they paid for in time to prepare for christmas.

Ok,

So I got a hold of a string of warm White LED's from elsewhere. I now see that the "Candle White" LED's That we Got from MITS

are somewhere in between the Pure White and warm White. As I only Bought 2 strings, this is not a huge deal for me.

However, next Year I was planning on converting all of my Clear incandecant lights to Warm White LED. And unless I can

get C9 retro's that match this color, I'd need to source all the M5 lights from elsewhere. Othewise, I am quite pleased with the other colors and they are testing out well so far.

The warm whites are definitely different that I have received from other vendors. I actually like them they are closer to incandescent that we are all use to. Now do I sell off my 32 strands of warm white that have been used 1 season that I got from Travis at LED Holiday Lighting and buy more of the MITs lights. I don't know. Anybody interested in 1 season used lights. LOL

hi everyone. Sorry I was out of town and did not have great computer access... But hey I can get on here on my phone ! Thanks Dan for the heads up on that!

All USA are shipped out. We have shipped 3 Canada orders and are filling the rest quickly. There are some of you who maybe missing some strands or have a bad one. We are shipping all those on Monday.

As far as the warm white vs pure white. I have seen another vendors and noticed the difference also compared to a sample from our facotry in 2009 there is a difference. Upon contacting the factory the answer got was this is their current warm white compound. Though I know opions will vary on how warm it is too warm or not warn enough etc.... It is not pure white as that is silver almost in nature. So if anyone feels they got pure white the lights that are pure are silvery looking. Also while not all lights where shipped in their oriignal boxes as we allowed open cases. The pur white number ends in 13 and the warm whites in 93.

Ryan,

Do you have any more of the warm whites left. I thinking of getting 32 strands of 100 from you so they match. Let me know.

I do like the color just wasn't expecting the difference.

Thanks

Hmmm I am here, didn't see the PM. Here is an update. Jacob sent out the final Canada orders today. There are a few people with missing strands, wrong strands, or broken strand replacements that will be sent out in the coming days. Other than that I got nothing. My work schedule has doubled from about 40 hours a week to 80 but still feel free to email me or PM me. Even if it is just to say HI :)
