christmas_nut 98
I was wondering when everybody here at PC turns their christmas display on for everyone to enjoy? Last year I couldent help Myself and turned the lights on, on December 1st. Im only asking because my wife believes we should only turn them on around the 15th or so. ( A little back story, I decorate the outside of the house around mid Nowember. If I had my way I would turn the lights on then.)

CraigH 10
We live in Michigan. I start putting up the lights and running a few tests on the first weekend in November. The show runs in earnest, starting the Friday after Thanksgiving with the last night being December 31. Except for Christmas week, we go 6-9 Sunday to Thursday and 6-10 Friday and Saturday. Around my area, most people put up their lights during the Thanksgiving weekend. After all the work you do, it would be a shame to only have the lights on for two weeks. Just my opinion. The weekend after remembrance day. Although we probably won't have snow till mid to end of December.

VegasLee 10
Every year we get set up by Thanksgiving day and turn it all on Thanksgiving night. We let it run until New Years day and down it comes. Being in Las Vegas we don't tend to see snow or ice though so we don't have to work around the weather.

mmciver 10
We live in a rural part of Phoenix Arizona. Because of this, we don't get tons of drive by traffic. We do, however have a large party the day before Thanksgiving. This is when the light show turns on:) This is probably when most of the people see the lights. Of course, no snow! We run until the Saturday after New Years. Mike.

Apache Lights 10
This is a reoccurring question on this forum; standard answer is Thanksgiving to New Years. Dates tend to vary depending on location, but seem to directly correlate to light count. If your lights only take a few hours to put up you tend to be further into December. If your lights take weeks or more to put up you tend to have them on earlier in November and run them longer. If your even on this forum in August, you can get away with before December 15th, tell you wife I gave you permission.
jstorms 15
Thanksgiving Eve through New Year's Eve 6-9 PM on school nights, 6-10 on non-school nights.
BaldEagleChristmas 24
5:00 PM Thanksgiving night through the weekend after New Years. In my version of Santa's book, it is okay to put up "new" things through Thanksgiving weekend, since the new stuff always takes the most time. After that, I just enjoy what I've got. However I have an ace in the hole. My son. At just 3 years old he already has the lighting bug biteing him. Every day he wants to go down to the workshop while I test lights and paint my cut outs. " Turn on da lights dada, turn on da lights". When the decorations go up I know he will want the lights on, and whatever my son wants my wife always gives in. mxtrainer 13
I think it is based on the persons particular "Christmas Insanity". Since we are doing the front and back yard this year (we live on a lake that is a major walk area in the back) I started building all the new 20ft arches (5) the first part of October and had them up running for a couple of weeks for testing. Getting ready to build the first 20ft mega tree now and have the backyard designed for the most part. I will have everything up front and back in 10 days, then Light er up to make adjustments. Have fun and do what you feel is right for you and your family.
