Pirates Of The Caribbean Projections

Hey all,

I'm doing a Pirates of the Caribbean Halloween theme this year (since my boy is really into pirates right now) and I'm looking for a window projection (or pumpkin projection) I can use to add to the show. Ideally, I'm looking for the Davy Jones video from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. If I can't find that than I'd love to find some projection video of pumpkins singing "Yo Ho Yo Ho (A Pirates Life for me)" or some projection video of a pirate flag. Anyone know where I could find anything like that?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim!

I have a pirate flag animation that I've done. It's on my YouTube channel if you want to see it. It's only 15 seconds on there, but last night I redid it and extended it to 1 min. You can set it up to loop too. PM me if you are interested in it.

JIm,

I just got singing pumpkin projection that I plan to use this year. I've posted a demo of it here on you tube

look at 2:30 and they do the Yo Ho song. You just need one projector and it does all 3 pumpkins. I think this is going to be a hit with the kids..

I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, but I did a fairly decent size Pirate show in 5.1 surround for Halloween.

You can check out the video and pics at http://web.me.com/mh...rates_2007.html

Pretty awesome, Markus! I might be contacting you for some suggestions on a big show I'm planning to do at my house for Halloween. That is if the economy treats me right this year!

post-12503-0-53921900-1326605331.jpgHey all,

I used the same singing pumpkins video this past Halloween as Paul and it was a big hit. I converted the video to mpeg4 so I could play it off of my IPod Touch and put the audio through an old Pioneer receiver. The video is about 19 minutes long, so I would restart over and over. This year, I hope to utilze my LOR controllers by synchronizing the lights. I have attached a picture of my display.

Take care,

Mike

Once again folks, I will be doing a Jack-o-Lantern projection of "Yo Ho Yo Ho, (A Pirates Life for Me)" AND Thriller (among other songs). Keep your eyes out for it! I'll post it when it's available! The animation and expression will be MUCH better quality than what currently is available from others. Here's a couple of videos to give you an idea of what I do.

Great job. Personally I think the trio faces need to be scarier for Thriller, etc, like the video at the beginning of this thread, but not with the "Blue Moon" song. The ones you have are perfect for that. I love it.

When do you think you will have a set of songs available for sale (and approximate price?)? How far away do you place the projector and how do you protect it from the elements?

Out of curiosity, if you don't mind saying, what software are you using to create these?

Songs should be available around the middle of the year (plenty of time for you to work them in to your shows!) And for pricing...they'll be around $20-$35.

As for as where to place your projector, that depends on the size of the pumpkins you are projecting onto AND if your projector has a manual zoom feature. For the "Blue Moon" video, the projector was placed about 6' away. To protect the projector from the elements, a simple solution would be to get a tupperware container that your projector can fit into and cut holes for the lens, cords, and ventelation. Then just camouflage it with whatever decor you want!
