Should I Buy One Of These?

If no one takes me up on my Rudolph trade offer, I'm considering buying one of these snowmen.  They all seem to be in great shape (Christmas is pretty sunny here).

Is this a snow lady?

Is this Grand Venture?

Who made this one?

The prices seem reasonable to me.  What do all you experts think?

Thanks for your help!

Shannie,

The first one is Union Products and they call it a snowman in their catalogs.  In my opinion it is worth more than they are asking for it.

The second one is either a General Foam Plastics or a Grand Venture, that snowman was made in different colors and sizes by Poloron, Holiday Innovations, Empire, General Foam Plastics, TPI, Sun Hill and Grand Venture.  If that one is a Grand Venture it will have their name on the bottom.  Union Products did not make that snowman.  I do think that one is probably a General Foam, based on the yellow band on the hat, they are still making that one this year.  Personally I think the price is high considering it is used but that is only my opinion.

The third is an Empire snowman, I don't think that General Foam made that one with a green scarf.  That one is probably worth the money if you don't have to pay shipping for it.

1.  In my opinion it is definitely a snowlady even though it was listed as a snowman in the catalog.  That is a small snowperson (about 20 inches) so I don't think it would "fill the gap" if it is the only snowperson in your display.  The price seems ok.  (They are certainly being sold for more on eBay.)

2.  As Mel mentioned the yellow band on the hat suggests that it is a Gen Foam snowman.  I'm pretty sure that Gen Foam was the only company to make it with the yellow band.  I believe they are painting the entire hat black now.  For $40 you could buy a new one so it seems high for a used one.

3.  The price seems a little high to me simply because you could buy a similar size new one for that prices.

Also, here in San Diego, the only place I've seen blow molds for sale was WalMart.  And all they had was the snoopy molds and a couple jack o lanterns at Halloween.  But that was probably about 3 years ago.  Now they only carry inflatables.  So craigslist is really the only way to get blow molds locally anymore.  :(
