What a delight to run across this thread! I have some Hamberger penguins (some motorized, some stationary) and the stationary ones smell really bad - very much like burning rubber. When I got them (used) in the late 1980s I phoned Hamberger displays and they actually offered to trade them out for new ones but I never got around to it. The penguins seem to be made of hardened latex.  Darrid, have you ever run across pieces that smell like someone just peeled out on bald tires at an intersection?

I changed his coat it was real dirty and had some holes the same with his scarf still working on ear muffs not sure what to do there they are very bright coral colored ,has anyone re done these ear muffs before ? and maybe a black hat. I don't like to change these guys to much . I try to keep close to there orginal style of that time period.post-20201-0-39681300-1420487055_thumb.jpost-20201-0-98497400-1420487074_thumb.j

These are some pieces I had purchased back in 1976 from Bronner's (for a chamber of commerce display).  The only ID I can find is a mention of "RK Family" on the back of the catalog page.  Other than that it is printed for Bronner's being a distributor for the line.  Anyone have more info??    PS -  HAPPY NEW YEAR,  EVERYONE !

David,

These pieces were made by a company called R&K International out of NJ. They went out of business several years ago.

Bay,  I found the catalog from 1977.  Here are the "Mechanical Snowmen"  The 'Shoveling Snowman' you have was listed for $192.50.  Also they were still available in the 1988 catalog as well, so they must have been pretty popular.

Okay, all you animation experts I have 3 squirrels I don't know who made them any info would be appreciated. :)

Bay,

I'm not an expert but I do have some old catalogs  These pics are from Hamberger Catalogs from 1977 & 1988.

From 1977 are the "Forest Animals" and "Fixing A Snack For Santa"  The forest seems to have everything except a Squirrel.  And the Mice have taken over the Kitchen.

From 1988 is "Santa's Christmas Village" - Small pics on a single page.  There are a few Squirrels there (1049,1059 & 1060)  but I don't think they match what you have.   If I find anything more I will be sure to post for you.

David

i am not to sure about the squirrels being RK. I have a set of 4 or 5 raccoons made by the same company. I have it written somewhere but do not know off hand. My raccoons are busted up and I will re-do them this year.

Also in the picture posted by DAVID - it is the bottom picture with all of the HAMBERGER fat head animals in it. There is a picture on the top right hand cornner of the picture where the prop is a mouse popping out of a barrel on a tree. I have that prop, both of them and they are both in good condition & extreamly rare. Yes they need a little bit of work but I highly doubt you will find anyone else with that piece. It is a large prop & I may be looking to SELL IT so if anyone is interested in it let me know it is a big piece and I am up for all real offers. I just sold the gingerbread house to the kandy kids set and will be piecing out some other parts of my collection in the next few months just to knock down the amount of figures I have.

Also I have 2 shadow boxes with 1/2INCH plexi glass for sale but I need to move them quick for space reasons. one is I thnk 4 feet deep by 8 feet long by 4 feet high & the other is a single figure box about 2 feet wide by 4 feet high by 2 feet deep.

Let me know if you are interested in the prop or shadow boxes. Selling the boxes cheap & the glass alone is almost a grand due to the thickness

OMG making prep to take down some Xmas animation this weekend. Am going to attempt to catalogue each piece of animation I own into 1 biig book instead of having sheets of paper everywhere. Maybe do a folder of pics and pieces. IDK either way its a bit to much to do all in one day.

Anyone know a good secretary for hire?..lol

What I do is print out the listing or if there is no listing take picture's and then print them out and then file them so you know what you have. Also it's good to have if you're selling them too.:)
