drkness 61
I really like the look or more specifically my wife really likes the looks of snow fall tubes/ icicles. I may end up getting some. I'm more interested in the retrofit ones. Opinions on the tube and icicles and best places/ experiences to get them!
uptownguy2000 53
What do the retrofits look like? Are you talking about the l.e.d. one's that make it look like they are dripping?
scottblakeman35 39
I don't have the retro fit snowfall tubes but I have 25 of these types. http://www.holiday-light-express.com/Cascading_LED_Light_Tubes.php I haven't had a problem with them the only thing is you need to get a power cord and spacer cords. I use the white and blue together and it gives it a nice look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnJ-nDR1Cic
LightmareOnElmSt 2
Snowfall tubes are excellent! We purchased retrofit ones from Christmas Designers. They have their after season sales going on now, and typically have tiered bulk pricing during the rest of the year. I don't remember what other competitors we looked at, but I recall choosing CD based on their price at our buying level (about 100 tubes total). I prefer tubes over icicles generally, I think at a distance it has a clean look that really emphasizes the falling animation. If I were viewing them close up, like along a covered porch, I might think the icicles look fine too.
RobertB 14
I have been real happy with these; http://www.creativedisplays.com/C-9-LED-COOL-WHITE-FALLING-RETRO-FIT-TUBE-24-INCH-C-9LEDCWF24.htm Not sure if his pre-sale is still going on now or not. I use those and a combo of these. You can see them in this video; They do randomize after being on a few. I wish I could hang them differently though. Just doesn't work for anywhere else in the display. Also you can use simple c9 stringers for these.

RobertB 14
These are the ones I used this year. I wanted to change to pixels this year. There were really sturdy too. In years past I personally made my own and used incans with them. (http://burtonchristmaslights.weebly.com/projects.html) Go down to almost the bottom of the page. I have a pdf of the snowflakes on there too. One of the guys here on the forum (haven't seen Chris around lately either) gave me the pdf. Used a Pixcon16 controller with them (the ones this year). Went about 25ft with the furthermost pixel snowflake.
