xenon 71 Posted December 1, 2018 Report Share Posted December 1, 2018 a close out store near me is selling a box of 50 C9 screw in bulbs for $15. and they had a 100' length of C9 fixtures, and a spool of 500' $10 for the 100' are these good prices, and would the C9s work in a older string designed for incandescent thanks. Mikeymatic 27 Posted December 1, 2018 Report Share Posted December 1, 2018 If the C9 Screw in bulbs you are buying have an intermediate E17 Screw base and are marked 120V they should work fine in an old C9 incandescent string. You can even mix up the LEDS with incandescents in different sockets. In the E17 or IES screw base "E" stands for Edison and 17 indicates the diameter in millimeters as measured across the peaks of the thread on the base.
