A neighbor & his dog...does he REALLY think he's funny???

Menards had one of those cameras on sale for about $70. I was considering getting one, but there's the issue of rigging it to only work when the lights are off (otherwise it would probably take a pic every time your lights flashed...)

We are definately looking into cameras for next year. Since my display will be larger next year, I need to protect myself anyway. I'll be researching cameras to see which product best meets my needs. Until then, I'll keep walking my Mastiff and the whole street will be watching.:]

Thanks again for everyone who has given me advice and support. I can't say enough about the help I've received here on PC.

Our county has no animal control and strays are always around. After my son was attacked by one on his way to school, was advised by the Sheriff to practice the Three S's...

Shoot

Shovel

Shut up

Yes, my boy gets an armed escort on occasion.

One of the "benefits" of being out in BFE.

I use a 30 IR led wireless camera to watch the yard - feeding into a capture card on the server running software called "Gotcha" - only capture video when there is movement and a cheistmas time use a "mask" onthe software'stimer . . . and another watching the driveway 24/7 . . . caught a crim too! And proved that a courier had only dropped 2 of 3 parcels . . . .

What would be cool is if you could teach Bruiser to go catch the frisbee and then come sit by you with it in his mouth. Then you could say thanks for the frisbee.

Use this.

Scarecrow Motion Sprinkler

Sears item #01299609000 Mfr. model #C66 CRO102

SCARCROW AUTOMATIC ANIMAL DETERRENT SPRINKLER Motion activated sprinkler instantly releases a short but startling burst of water when it detects an animal. The sudden water, movement and noise scare animals away and help teach them to avoid the area in the future. Smart circuitry automatically dampens sensitivity in windy conditions to reduce false triggers. Works day and night on a single battery for up to 4 months. Each unit covers approximately 1200 sq. feet. Requires garden hose hookup and one 9 volt alkaline battery, not included.

1) Call the police and report it ... NOW

2) Send him a bill for the damages.

3) Get what ever additional proof you can get (video ...)

4) ask your neighbors in a 1/2 to 1 mile area around his home if they have noticed anything like this.

5) If he doesn't pay take him to small claims court.

Bullies should NOT be tollerated1

REPORT IT, WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION AND A REPORT YOU HAVE NO CASE.

GATHER THE NEIGHBORS AND HAVE THEM SIGN STATEMENTS AS TO HIS ACTIONS.

GRAB THE HOSE PIPE AND SPRAY THE DOG AS HE COMES ON YOUR PROPERTY:devil:

SOME DOGS WILL RUN FROM WATER

EDUCATE YOURSELF ON YOUR LOCAL AND STATE LAWS CONCERNING PETS

DOES THE DOG HAVE IT'S SHOTS? DOES IT HAVE TAGS THAT YOU CAN SEE?

ANIMAL CONTROL COULD BE BROUGHT IN

ANIMAL CONTROL WILL ALSO BRING YOU A TRAP.

Document the event in detail and file suit. It costs so little to file suit and that is why there are so many frivolous suits. THIS IS NOT frivolous.

FILE it and make that sob pay for the damage. If you can make the judge believe he did it intentionally and with some malice, you could be recompensed even more than the damage.

i agree with recording and reporting.

i havent had any problem with vandelism so far, but i did keep it somewhat low profile, just told a couple riends. but since im sure some people told friends and im adding on this year im sure i will have some sob come over, good thing we are buying security cameras (there have been some breakins in our neighborhood recently, my neighbor actually found a guy sleeping in her garage with a gun next to him, shows how the world is goin to hell in a handbasket)
