  1. This is one of 7 videos. This is our first attempt on a 20ft CCR tree which turned out wonderful. Video taken on an Iphone 6. We collect donations for the American Cancer Society
  2. I tried clicking on the painting rope lights but internet explorer could not find the sight
  3. I'm looking to turn one of my trees which is almost perfectly round into a hot air balloon. Decorating the tree and making the basket is the easy part. Due to the winds and snow in South Dakota, I can use the usual fan and silk flame. I need to build one out of wood or coro. How do I make this somewhat realistic?
  4. I put his in the Mega tree area because I didn't see a slot for this question. I have a Chinese Dwarf Lilac tree that is about 7 ft tall and relatively round. It sits in the middle of my display. I'm looking for ideas for lighting it that will make it stand out. I was thinking of making it into a hotair balloon with a Christmas package but I think we get too much snow and I would like to have a flame. I don't know how to make a flame. I was thinking about a piece candy cane candy but net lights are a pain to work with. Any suggestions, posts or videos I should see
  5. I had an eight foot tree and just used a 5 ft green steel fence post. it never moved is all the wind and blizzards we had
  6. To keep it low budget, I used a 10ft 1 1/2 in PVC and cut off the top two feet to make it easier for me to reach the top. The base was 10ft of 1/2" grey PVC since it bends easily. I drilled very small holes and used small screw hooks at the top of the tree - (8). I purchased really thin cable from Campbells supply and 16 cable clamps. I made eight small loops for the top and put them over the hooks. On the base, I had measured and marked the grey pvc to drill holes for the cable. I put the cable thru the holes and connected them with the clamps. I put a green metal fence post (5ft) in the ground and place the tree on that for stability. Our strongest blizzards never made it lean. Then its just a matter of stringing the lights - eight strings - eight channels of spiral. I don't have much money or time and need things portable.
  7. BEING 3/4" THEY MAY NOT FIT OVER GREEN METAL FENCE POSTS, BUT IF THEY DO. IT BEATS USING ANCHORS
  8. I've been working on a firework display and these snowfall tubes may be my answer. I purchased a large dog's undestuctible ball (amazon.com) for my base on top of my 1 1/4 inch pvc. You can drill holes in this ball and put in your tubes or PVC pipe go out in multiple directions. I have diagrams but for the life ofme, I don't know how to attach them a post.
  9. We have Madison's Magical Christmas in Madison SD. We raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. 2012 will be our last year. My help will be going to college in 2013. I have 64 channels including 2 - 10ft Spiral Trees, 2 - 6 ft Spiral trees and a 13 ft Trampoline called the Circle of Life. Other than the lights going around it, it contains a peace sign, Christmas tree and lighted garland, and a Star, and a pick Ribbon. This year I'm adding Christmas bells. I'm aslo adding Arches and maybe Snoopy Vs Red Baron for the kids. You can see it on www.madisonsmagicalchristmas.com. It's good to see South Dakotans on this forum
  10. I'm looking at doing Christmas Bells by the Royal Guardsman using Snoopy on his dog house. I have a 6 plugin controller to make it look like he's taking off an flying . Are there patterns anywhere or do you just do the best you can with pictures?
  11. We're using a 3600 watt generator and a CPT16 controller. when everything is off, the lights continue to blink. They also blink periodically when the program is running. any solutions?
  12. We are putting a float together. we have a CTP16 controller with a 3600 watt generator. We're running about 1000 watts and 6.5 amps. We are having problems with the lights blinking when they should be off. Any solutions?
  13. i have problems with my lights blinking when they are suppose to be off. Can anyone tell me why? We have a 3600watt generator with 14 amp fuse. We're running about 1000 watts and 6.5 amps. I could use a solution
  14. WHAT KINDS OF LIGHTS TO DO HAVE? I'M NOT GOING TO THE EVENT, BUT I AM LOOKING FOR SOME LED'S FOR OUR 4TH OF JULY LIGHT SHOW
  15. I've been trying to make a firework using a undestructable plastic dog ball (10" $9.99 Petsmart) and drilling holes in it to put in pvc pipe. I believe you can stick up to four 10ft 1/2" pipes running through the ball. plus a larger one to hold the ball up - you can run one straight up and into the support pole which should be at least 1 1/2". Dirlling the holes so the pipes criss cross inside the ball in the challenge. I'm sure it will work but I haven't had time to work on it. I suggest running lights up the pole like a shooting star. The PVC pipes in the ball you have 3 sets of lights on each "prong". This give the exploding effect. The top PVC prongs may bend a bit but so do fireworks. This should work - I just can't find the time to put it together.
