  3. PICTURES BELOW SHOWS A TURNTABLE REEL THAT HOLDS OVER 200' OF ICECICLE LIGHTS. I HAVE USED THIS FOR 8 YEARS AND IT HAS SAVED A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT AND STORES EASILY. WHEN LIGHTS ARE HUNG THEY HANG STRAIGHT WITH NO CURLS. I STORE WITH GUTTER CLIPS INSTALLED, SO THAT ONCE IT IS UNWOUND IT IS READY TO HANG. I ALWAYS START TO REWIND FROM THE BACK OF HOUSE. THIS GIVES THE SAME MOUNTING EACH YEAR AND ALWAYS ALIGNS WITH MY PLUGS ON THE TRUNK LINES, WHICH LAY IN THE GUTTER. I CONTROL WITH 16 CHANNELS OF LOR, SO I HAVE 16 SECTIONS OF ICECICLE LIGHTS. WHEN I TAKE DOWN, I START TO REWIND FROM THE FRON
  4. Greg thanks for info. I have multimeter with diode tester option but it will not work in diode mode. It shows "cannot test this diode". I will check out resistance and see how this works out. WaterBill
  5. Thanks, you sure answered many of my questions. I never considered the flasher unit putting out DC voltage but you are 100% correct. I should have put meter on it but I did not. After checking it with meter, it is DC. I tried a different cheaper relay and it will not work on this DC as it was rated 110VAC. Evidently the relay that works must be AC/DC relay. I wonder why they use bridge rectifier in this flasher unit! I wonder if I could go into flasher and eliminate bridge rectifier so I could eliminate the relays? AC output would solve my problem. Unfortunately, this flasher is sealed with pl

    LED repairs

My interest is learning more about repair of christmas LED lights. Could someone recommend a good diode tester! How can I tell if a string is 1/2 or full phase? I used 4 circuit output flasher to power 4 LED strings and the flasher would only light 1/2 the string. By reversing the plug, the other 1/2 would light. I solved the problem by using 4 relays and the full strings operated normally. Did I have a better way to do this as relays cost close to $50? I also had 1 string of 60 blue LED's that had 1 section go out. I found 3 LED's right next to each other that had serious rust and corrosion o
  7. I have been storing lights and decorations in my Florida attic for past 11 yrs with no problems. A few blow molds have gotten brittle but this may be age as much as heat. This year I am storing in 16' enclosed trailer which I traded for a Sea Doo. I was getting tired of the up and treks from the attic. I used rope with hook on end to lower the 60 plus tubs. Not to bad. The other items were no fun as I have a lot of 10' items and it was a challenge. Loading the trailer this season was a cakewalk and unloading it will be fun. As it is unloaded, everything goes to area where itis used. Stops stag
