Did you know?
  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.
  • The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and the red berries the blood he shed.
  • The three traditional colors of most Christmas decorations are red, green and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Christ, green symbolized life and rebirth, and gold represents light, royalty and wealth.
  • Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.
  • The oldest artificial Christmas trees date back to the late 1800s and were made of green raffia (think grass hula skirts) or dyed goose feathers. Next the Addis Brush Company used their machinery that wove toilet brushes to create pine-like branches for artificial Christmas trees that were less flammable and could hold heavier decorations.
  • ‘Jingle Bells’ – the popular Christmas song was composed by James Pierpont in Massachusetts, America. It was, however, written for thanksgiving and not Christmas.
  • Coca-Cola was the first company that used Santa Claus during the winter season for promotion.
  • Hallmark introduced their first Christmas cards in 1915.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    Did you ever find them?
  2. Good News from Christmas-LEDs.com - The new website is up and running! It’s been a nightmare over the past couple of months and the things I Host (web site host) told me were going to happen didn’t happen! That’s a whole other story though. Unfortunately, they were not able move the customer data base over to the new website or any past customer orders. This means that all of my regular customers will need to create a new account on the new website. We still have some tweaking to do but for the most part, you will be able to place orders again. For those of you that have been waiting…. A HUGE Thank You for your patience!
  3. You will have to edit the pictures and reduce the size down. Most cell phones take pictures that are almost 2mb in size.
  4. I'm extremely humbled by all of you great people. Due to the large demand for my work I've had to stop taking orders as of Friday, Apr. 6, 2018. If you do place an order it will be placed onto a waiting list and if possible I will make them for this year. If you have any questions please contact me.Once again, you all are the best and I'm very humbled.
  5. I just talked with Val at Christmas-leds.com and it with great sadness that I make this post. She did ask that no one make a post on her Facebook pages as she will see this and the replies later on. Her husband (Gray) has been fighting cancer now for a long time and it appears that he only has a very short time to live. He is on home hospice and very very weak. Please pray for her and her family as they go thru this very hard time of their life.
  6. Well, we have some great news. We got a call from FedEx wanting to talk about my company and shipping. After 2 calls they have given me a better discount on the shipping. The bottom line is, you the customers will be saving money on shipping from now on.
  7. Well, how often do you see lower prices? We just lowered the prices on a lot of our frames due to the fact that we have found a new supplier for some of the supplies that we need to make the frames and it cost us less than before. Therefor we are passing that on to all of you. We are not going to say that they may go lower again, but if we can we'll do it again.
  8. Christmas-leds.com have gray combo clips that you can use over white led lights.
