Did you know?
  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.
  • The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and the red berries the blood he shed.
  • The three traditional colors of most Christmas decorations are red, green and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Christ, green symbolized life and rebirth, and gold represents light, royalty and wealth.
  • Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.
  • The oldest artificial Christmas trees date back to the late 1800s and were made of green raffia (think grass hula skirts) or dyed goose feathers. Next the Addis Brush Company used their machinery that wove toilet brushes to create pine-like branches for artificial Christmas trees that were less flammable and could hold heavier decorations.
  • ‘Jingle Bells’ – the popular Christmas song was composed by James Pierpont in Massachusetts, America. It was, however, written for thanksgiving and not Christmas.
  • Coca-Cola was the first company that used Santa Claus during the winter season for promotion.
  • Hallmark introduced their first Christmas cards in 1915.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  1. I was wondering if anyone had problems any gece pixels. I have a couple strings that one random pixel will have one light will stay on constantly. Such as the last pixel the red light is on and effecting the colors. These are still like they came out of the box. I was going to hook them up to an e681 but will they work properly then? Just curious. Should I just wait and take them back to the store. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

  5. Oh the 2 and 4% only go toward the case broken strands?
  6. I was wondering I the case quantity fir the m5 100ct strands are 24 as well I thought last year they were 12 Um just trying to figure out how to spend my money and get free strands hehe Also if I pay in full i get 2% off and if I buy over the $1024 mark I will get another 2% as well so will I end up getting a 4% off Just wondering Thanks Chris
  7. Does the light itself still work? If so you can just put some glue of somesort in the light that keeps it from gettin wet My mega tree crashed to the ground (my fault of course) and damaged some of the LEDs but they where just plastic covers (stangely mostly red ones and some blue as well) so I'm going to put glue in/on them basically water proof them again because the lights work and it is the same color led as the rest of the strand only because I cannot find all of the covers to glue them back Thankfully out of 200 strands (50 mega strands of rgbw) only one strand was damage and would not light half way that I will have to fix the light and possibly cut the socket open and resoder the wires back together
  8. here is my problem ive used only about 70 or so not even close to my 200 i bought lol i have a big yard and house OK so i have several of the Christmas light show window curtain strobes which work great btw but when ever they are all going the touch light non florescent light when its on in my house flickers and same with the light above our sink which a florescent light that screws in i also have a digital alarm clock that seems to gradually gain time after or during my show my show is totally on another breaker system and i have many more strobes that i am not using that i planned on using but idk now what to do last year i did post this question here along with picture of my breaker box built off of the main breaker system http://forums.lightorama.com/forum79/23574.html i did get some replies and i do not want to go and buy a $100-$200 surge suppressor and I cannot return it if it does not work the electrician at Home Depot said he thought there might be a loose wire somewhere and there is a voltage drop idk it just hit me that maybe the wire from the breaker box to the plug is not big enough so my question is has anyone else had this happen and if so is their any thing to stop it from happening thanks and any advice is helpful
