  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.

  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.

When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  3. i have had the pattern for a couple years but my wife wont let me build it. she says its too big, is there such a thing?
  4. I ordered a about three thousand mini s last year. I had to go thru and push in a few loose bulbs but other than that it was worth it. I used the amber for Halloween last year.

We also have wireframe bats and ghost from Christmas-LEDs and homemade tombstones using Val's Christmas Expo demo.   13. I just got around to checking the box of loose lights I got for $15.00 - 25pcs. of GE 100ct cool white LED mini's and they ALL WORK! Score!
