  • About my display
Went to mostly LED this year. Love them. Nice not tripping breakers. Put up about 5,000 lights this year but scored a bunch of LED'S at Krogers at 75% off. Also got one of the GE sights & sounds of christmas after the holiday so look forward to setting that up next year.
  1. I used 7-strands of 70 white icycles and the 3 sets of 10 candy canes. I did not get them up over the weekend and now its raining here. Since I need volunteers to put them up it will probably be this weekend before they go up. I will get you some pic's as soon as I do though. Wish I had taken some when I had one up in July. Hindsight is always 20/20.
  2. Shane: I restrung mine with 70 cnt. white LED icycles. I also found some LED candy canes and put 3 strings of 10 on each arch. The arches themselves were repainted when I stripped all the old C7's off. Set one up in the back yard in July and it looked great. I'll be setting my two up over the drive today. Curt
  3. My guess is he never heard "You can catch more fly's with honey than vinegar" Odds are his relationships with his niebors would not be good even without the display. I believe our hobby streaches the limits of normal (even our own families can't understand it sometimes.) How could we expect our niebors to be more understanding. Our families put up with it because they care for us. If our niebors do not put up with it it is because they do not care for us.
  4. Is it just me or do the LED's seem to have come down some from last year. Not that I can afford them. I too buy at the after holiday clearances. Have mostly LED's that I have gotten for under $4.00 box but I see them now for like $6-$7.
  5. I went down to HD and bought some 3/4" X 1 1/2" landscaping stakes and painted them white. They are about 2 1/2' lond and I drive them in about 3-4" at about 8' spacing. I drive a finishing nail it the top and swag C9's between them. Outlines the entire yard very inexpensively and most people will not try to step over it.
  6. Joey: If we get no more rain you won't have to worry about it. I think the grass is done for the year. I say mow it and put out the grave yard.
  7. I spotted these the other day from one of PC's vendors. Not cheap but way cool. http://www.creativedisplays.com/siteresources/modules/webstore/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=713
  8. I keep buying lights from China. Can't seem to stop. I keep saying I will but I don't. Is there a Ebay anonymous?
  9. What a laugh. What kind of GOV. do we have who would confiscate christmas decorations? Oh well here it is if any of you folks up there that are interested. http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemID=1000&acctID=658
  10. I just went back and looked at the pictures with the inventory list in hand. Folks we bought a lot of stuff. I really think that if we all keep our requests resonalble we can post balance on this thread. Try to generate interest around PC and we can cover our overbid. I mean we have thousands of dollars worth of holiday lighting. I don't think that we will have a problem moving some of it to cover our bid. There is always craigslist & etc.
  11. I'm with lightson on this. I think we ought to see what items are requested. See whats left. Offer balance of items to shareholders as additional shares. Then offer them for sale here on PC. If after a resonable time we do not sell the items, then each of the original shareholders should devide the balance and pay Rescue off. (Unless of course Rescue gets increased commitments from anyone.) I also think we should consider accepting additional shareholders to cover our overbid. I think the main thing to remember is we all went into this togeather and I don't think any of us would fault Rescue for continueing to bid beyond out budget. In fact I think he deserve's an attaboy! Rescue let me know if there is anything I can do to help and I am sure all feel the same. I for one would have a tough time exceeding my original share but I also want to say I will do what needs to be done.
  12. We been getting some thunder and lightning here also. I hope the county warehouse wasn't hit up there. LOL
  13. I see you are on. Did things get worked out this afternoon?

  14. Where is everyone this evening? I thought I would log on and you folks would have this all worked out.
