There are 20 bulbs so that's the 3rd fact that points to 6v bulbs. I guess I should order some more 6v bulbs from a different source and try them. I would like to find a source where I could select the colors. Any suggestions? Oh, and thanks for the reply Bob and Sandra.
I recently bought a used Christmas train display which needs a bunch of new bulbs. Normal tree light bulbs do not light up. The carton and a tag on the string says 6v bulbs. I ordered 20 bulbs labled 6-8 volts but they barely light up. I also tried 2.5v bulbs and they wouldn't light either. I am at a loss as to what kind to look for and where to look. Part of the display has strings connect directly to 120vac while others strings (sequencing strings) go thru a controller. I measured the output of the controller at 109vac and it feeds 20 bulbs in series. Below is a pic of the first 2 cars of the train. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
