Did you know?
  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.
  • The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and the red berries the blood he shed.
  • The three traditional colors of most Christmas decorations are red, green and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Christ, green symbolized life and rebirth, and gold represents light, royalty and wealth.
  • Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.
  • The oldest artificial Christmas trees date back to the late 1800s and were made of green raffia (think grass hula skirts) or dyed goose feathers. Next the Addis Brush Company used their machinery that wove toilet brushes to create pine-like branches for artificial Christmas trees that were less flammable and could hold heavier decorations.
  • ‘Jingle Bells’ – the popular Christmas song was composed by James Pierpont in Massachusetts, America. It was, however, written for thanksgiving and not Christmas.
  • Coca-Cola was the first company that used Santa Claus during the winter season for promotion.
  • Hallmark introduced their first Christmas cards in 1915.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    Blue 5mm LED Lights

    THIS AD HAS EXPIRED!

    • For Sale
    • New

Several years ago I purchased these from Holiday Lighting so they are excellent quality. I never got to that project and my days of large displays is coming to an end so need to sell these. When I received them I unwound them and cut off the tags so they would be ready to go, just never got there. They are new and have never been used. Full Wave 5mm Blue LED Christmas Light Strings- 70ct These 5MM Conical LED Christmas lights have 70 premium grade LEDs per set, 4” bulb spacing with a 6” lead and tail wire, equaling a total length of 24 feet. Regular Male/Female Plugs attached, and low energy use (4.8 watts per set), allows for easy installation (can connect up to 45 sets end-to-end) and connection to a standard 120v Outlet. The Weather-proof 1-piece construction of these LED Christmas lights make them great for both indoor and outdoor use, and because they are full-wave rectified, you will get brighter truer colors with no flicker. Fully Dimmable, and compatible with popular light animation programs like LightORama and Animated Lighting I have 24 sets of them and they are currently being sold for $12-$17 depending on how many you buy. I will sell them individually for $8 a set plus shipping or sell all of them for $160 plus shipping. If interested shoot me an email [email protected]

I have about 40 sets of red led mini lights, 60 count. 25 sets are still in the box and 15 sets aren't. Easier to ship without the boxes so you decide. I believe these sets come from Walmart as I purchased them on here some years ago and never got them worked into my show. Asking $3.50 a set plus shipping. Let me know how many you want and can get you an estimate on the shipping cost. [email protected]

One thing you very seldom see is icicle lights in solid green. I have 8 sets of green Icicle lights for sale. They are in incandescent mini lights. Each set contains 100 lights, total length is 10 feet and lighted length is 9.5 feets. The strings appear to be longer then most sets with some over 2 feet long. I am asking $6.00 a set plus shipping. All 8 sets will fit into a flat rate medium box and I think that is about $13.60 flat rate to anywhere. If you are interested you need to email me [email protected]

  4. You purchase the WOW Christmas package and you are really wasting a lot of money. If your not handy enough to build some of things that they are going to sell then I have to wonder if you have the talents to even carry it off. And your going to find the stuff they are selling is not really that plug and play where it will require so little work for you. If you build your own props this summer they are going to be just as plug and play as what you going to get from them. Of course if money is no object then go ahead but after you fork over that amount to them be ready to fork over more then that to complete your display.
  5. Thanks for helping. I take it the ones from Ray are water proof? Also I see a lot of then are either DC 5v or 12v. What is the difference or your choice? I have had people you if contacted ray directly you could save a little on shipping or will he combine shipping charges? thanks
  6. OK I am trying to figure out this RGB thing. I have a lot of stick trees that I would like to convert over to the dumb RGB nodes next year. I have been trying to do a lot of reading on them but every time I do my head spins trying to figure out exactly what I need and where to get it from. Since I had 600 mini lights of each color on the tree I would like to try 600 nodes on one tree first and see how it looked. Could someone please tell me exactly what I need to purchase to put 600 nodes on that tree and where is the best place to buy the stuff as far as price and reliability. I live in snow and cold so that would have to be a consideration. I also want to be able to tie it in and program it with LOR. I hope someone that has been working with them can easly tell me what I need. thanks Duane
  7. Thanks for the information. That is what I was thinking as far as the amount of time trying to learn about DMX. I am just feeling like not getting involved with it is going to leave me behind the times. I hate thinking doing a display is getting beyond my ability.
  8. I have some of the CCR's from LOR that I used last year. And I see the talk about DMX and dumb light strips and smart strips so started looking into this DMX stuff. From looking at the stuff needed to get a CCR look similar to what I get from LOR I do not see much of a price savings. Am I missing something or can someone give me a comparison.
  9. Well put me down for 50 of the walmart clear and all the walmart green and 24 of the blue.
  10. Is there anyway possible to hook one of those up outside if you built a little box or something for it to sit in? Would the cold weather effect it? Could it be controlled with LOR to turn on and off at certain times. I like the look but do not have a house window to run it out of.

  21. OK I lost my job last year so I just sold my house and its time to get rid of stuff I am not using. No I am not getting out just unloading and I had thought about down sizing before since my children have grown and we no longer need a big 4 bedroom home so don't think I am in dire need. I just want to get rid of stuff I have no plans for. First on the list is what I think looks a lot like the santa and sleigh outfit that was in Christmas Vacation. It could be hard to ship since it would take several large boxes and the pieces are not all in perfect shape and a couple of the antler pieces might have some broken pieces. It would be nice if someone close wanted them and could pick them up. I am not looking for what a collector might want for them but just a fair offer to sell them to someone who might treasure them. Send me note if you have any interest. Duane
  22. There are those that pick up extra sets of lights at 50-75% off and and in keeping with the spirit of this web site help others on this site by just passing them off to others that needs them at their costs. There are others that pick them up after Christmas and then sell them at a higher cost to help finance their own display. I think the point is that they are being sold just to help someone else out might be what is a stretch. They are being sold to help defray the cost of leds. I know its hard for some to swallow when a previous post was just selling them at $1.00 a box but everyone has the right to ask what they want for them and we all have a right to pay what we want for them. Not everyone has the same character so you deal with who you want, no arm twisting is being done so leave this poor ordinary man alone.
  23. I have the following to sell. Lights Caps you can see a picture of them on clear lights 4 green 3 red 5 blue 10 black $.50 each The controllers came from the Sears multi-color trees which consisted of 500 clear and 500 multi color lights. I cut these controllers off of them since I did not need them. They are 8 function and each need to have plugs attached to the end of them. Old sets of lights are good for getting them from. If you have some static things that you want to get a little motion for these would be great. I have 4 of them $3.00 each
  24. I have some extra things that I would like to get rid of so I can buy some stuff. Send me a pm if interestested.
