  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.

Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  1. Kind of sad but after the last few years of folks stealing from the nativity, I have 16 cameras around the yard. These are the newest adds. And ran steel cable thru all the animals in the nativity with locks on them.
  2. That is AMAZING, the WOW factor. Great Job.
  3. Thats what they do here. They call and come by and check the area out for their tours.
  4. Still working on it. Just had the first Bus by, 5 limos last night.
  5. When it gets going we will have 10-15 limos, 2-3 buses, 6-8 trolleys on weekend Christmas light tours Large vehicals.
  6. Second Night up and Limos are in and around, they take a lot of area to get around and some folks don't care for the traffic we cause.
  7. Last year I was out in the yard talking, a Father and his Daughter stopped in front and he was telling her the Christmas Story and about how Jesus was born in a manger, it made my nativity so worth all of that for one child to hear the Christmas story. Plan on having it for that one more to ask Daddy about it so he can tell the story.
  8. Getting there but a long way to go. Got the Carosel out today did test run tonight.Have had 4 folks stop and they all like the nativity.
  9. Ok today I started to put my rope lights up and every plastic clip broke when I tried to clip it in, went to Ace, Lowes and nobody has rope light clips. Rhere has to be a better way to mount rope light other then the junk clips you have to replace every year. HELP.
  10. Pretty pleased with the way it turned out. kind of hard to see, the lanterns on either side have the 7watt flicker bulbs so it looks like they are burning.
  11. Got My Nativity going today, Sunday Icicle/ropes go up, then try to get the Carosel out of the garage. The post with the banner changes colors, and I Love my new Star with the CFL, it glows. Have to finish my PVC Shepard also.
  12. I sold some a while back, boxed it was going to be 30.00, bubble wrap/shink wrap on USPS 13.00 and was there in 4-5 days.
  13. Got all my posts in around the edge of the lawn and christmas flag poles on the corners. worked on the carosel tonight, almost done with it, got to get it outside now.
  14. The ground is so dry took 2.5 hrs to dig a 3" hole 2' deep to put lamp post 1 in, SLOW.
  15. Got to get some bails oh hay to go around and in the stable now. Got the conduit for the new blow mold Star to go over head and cut the back wall for the video screen.

  17. I am using Red Coro around the top of my carosel, is there some type of plastic connecter joint to put two together?
  18. Got started on My Stable today, hope to get the roof on towmarrow. Will have bales of hay around the base stacked two high, building a Shepheard out of PVC got the head today for him to go with my 3 blow mold sheep, will keep making another person every year. And will have my Blow Mold Star above the stable. Got the top on the carasel My Coroplast came in friday will get it monday to go around the top. HAVING TONSSSS OF FUN

    Green Lights

    Was in Home Depot today and they had green LEDs here in Tulsa.
  20. I took some 1/2" conduit cut in 24" lengths and drove them most of the way into the ground, left about 8" showing. It did great and we had wind here last year only came down 1 time.
  21. Last year Garden Ridge had a bigger one also, dont know about this year
  22. And really didn't have any wind issues as big as he is
  23. I got last years 16' santa from Lowes and every one loved it, had hime in the back yard, we decarate front and back
