  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.

  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.

Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

    1. Price has changed in the store to $175.00 now.
    2. The weather wet damp, cold and outside, don't think the cheap CFL's are for outdoor use, might look on the box I went thru a bunch last year.
    3. The only thing I ran into last year was the cold, it took a while to warm up and the weather seamed to take a toll on the bulbs, I used them in several inflatables. Blowmold might be better.
    4. I just did my new star with a CFL and it glows the way I wanted now. I used a hole saw.
    5. Pretty funny in the store this is $249.00 online it's $175.00, gonna have to hit my store mgr for a better price again.
    6. Finally got one on EBay $44.00 way under Yonder, so now two 28 and a baby 18" sheep.

    12. anyone have any good shipping ideas, I checked shipping for mickey and minnie usps was like $139.00 for the two and ups was I think just over $100.00 just because of the size, they don't weigh anything, any good ideas for shipping.

    18. The one I have likes with light back ground was one the news media shot out here. Don't know if planned or just happened, the Children brining toys to the Toys for Tots box, I love to watch the children at Christmas.
