  1. Check out ebay for LOR controlled strobes and 1000 watt spot lights. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290460349073&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290460349432&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290460732477&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290460732653&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT One LOR box is currently listed also, others will likely follow. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290460354963&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  2. You could always start smaller and work your way up. http://www.ladyada.net/make/spokepov/ Persistence of vision is a neat thing. The car wheels say they are powered by the vehicles system. I wonder if it uses slip rings or inductive power. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_energy_transfer
  3. Every one I have ever done required the "power good" wire to be tied into the 5 volt output. This was based on the ATX standard before a standby wire was added to the supply. If you can find an old AT power supply, they didnt require any modification and would run when you turned the switch on.

    Ribbon Tree

That is not the one I was thinking of. The tree was new for 2008 and belonged to a PC member. The tree you found is neat and also a finalist in the sympony contest.

    Ribbon Tree

Who had that blue mega or mini mega tree that looked like 4 or more ribbons wound up the tree in a spiral? That wasn't exactly what I had in mind for next year but it gave me an idea so I wanted to look at it again. I thought for sure I bookmarked it but it is nowhere to be found.
  6. Anyone know who runs WOWlights.com? Are they a member here?
  7. Regular C9 last year for me. Want to do retro for this season.
  8. What spacing do most of you run on your C9 bulbs for the eves and roof line? This year mine were 4" and I thought it was overkill. Thought about 12" for this year but looking for input.
  9. Great idea. About a year ago I sent Dan an email asking about a one or two channel wireless controller so I could put a light or two (or maybe a electric candle) inside each window of an apartment building without a ton of wiring. Never did get a reply.
  10. A friend of mine did this work for 6 months before he went out of his mind and quit. For 10 hours a day he was paid minimum wage to look at every picture and video on a popular sight in real time sifting out what was not allowed. If he spent too much time on a image or if he let one pass, he was docked. He said it was the worst job he ever had. Bottom line is, it may not matter what we name the video, they will listen to it.
  11. I disputed the claim on my contest video and deleted all others. So far my dispute has not been questioned. You should do the same. I can't remember, were you a finalist? If so, did you receive your prize yet? I have not seen anything in the mail.
  12. It was a TSO song from my 2006 display. Gone, just plain gone.... At least they sent an email letting me know they yanked it. Video Disabled A copyright owner has claimed it owns some or all of the audio content in your video Marshalltown, Iowa Jammin' Christmas Lights. The audio content identified in your video is Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We regret to inform you that your video has been blocked from playback due to a music rights issue.
  13. Yep, I have a string of RGB c6 leds all zip tied together in my basement and tried to do this. Don't bother. If you are viewing it from 3 blocks away they might blend but 30 or 40' away and they are just RGB due to size.
  14. More central Iowa here 611 South 7th Avenue Marshalltown We will run until the 31st. Wind has been a issue this year and we have replace 400+ bulbs this season. More than any other year. If LED sponsors grew on trees, I would plant one this spring.
  15. Good job! I am glad a PC member won! If for some reason you cannot make it, let me know. Maybe thats the reason our video is directly below yours on the page. My wife Michelle says congrats also. Have fun!
