  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.

  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.

When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  6. We got 3, converted to LED bulbs. Big differance!!

  8. I got the last 3 by me, they are great paint, the lighting is much, there are 2 bulbs,and it has the cheap glitter on the base

  11. Ya, Rich, same here..the wind is supposed to be 40+ with gusts to 65.. rain also,hopefully will be nice for Thanksgiving. Ours has been on since sunday
  12. I ordered the e12.. will see soon, how good they are. Time will tell, cant wait to get these deployed into the display, and replace the power robbing C7 5,7 and 15 watt incans. Will advise ,once they are installed. Have appx, 60 or so to do!
