  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.

Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

    Very close...3 inch pipe and 6 foot tall. Plastic globe but I have LED bulbs so shouldn’t make much heat I would figure, or I hope.😆. In terms of painting I just spiral taped it with wide painters tape and spray painted the pipe. Anywhere I had tape on it the pipe was white. Plan to drive a yard stake in the ground and bolt it to it. We’ll see how it works.

    What do you guys think of my candy cane light poles? It was my first attempt at making something. I made a total of 5 poles and they are BRIGHT! I think I’ll be doing some more projects as I had a lot of fun with this.
