Get Together Before the end of Oct. In Columbus Ohio
Scott Lindsey replied to Amanda- Ohio Lights's topic in Ohio
Tony, Just saw this thread. You and your family are in our prayers. Hopefully you will be able to get at least a static display going. Scott -
Can y'all smell what is cookin' and heading to the Buckeye State??? Looks great Gregg!! light-UP Ohio 2009 is definitely bigger and better this year. Bill has done an awesome job lining up some great presentations. Jeff has some top-notch vendors lined up as well. Gregg's BBQ has gotten some rave reviews. Tony has gathering on Friday night setup as well. Our numbers have grown this year to almost fifty with attendance from eleven different states. Everyone have a safe trip into town. If you have any questions between now and then, do not hesitate to contact Bill, Jeff or myself. If you will be attending dinner on Friday night, please let Tony know as soon as possible or let one of the three of us know and we will pass it on to him. Looking forward to meeting the new faces on Saturday as well as reconnecting with everyone else.

Carrie, Glad to hear you are able to make it again.

Robert, Too cool! A blowmold as a night light. I don't think my wife would let me get away with that one. Glad you enjoyed yourself. It was great meeting you, your dad and your son. He was too cute picking out from the door prizes! Stay in touch and let any of us know if you have any questions!

I will echo Bill's Thank You!!! Meeting new faces and seeing old faces again was great. Thank you to everyone for taking their time, talent and treasures to contribute to everyone's decorating knowledge!! We had such a wide range of attendess that I know that everyone left with more knowledge than they came with. I want to thank the presenters (Tony Furst, Carrie Sansing, Bill Miller, Chris Abnett, Greg Young, David Miller and Bill Hoffman) for helping contribute to the success of our gathering. Tony's electric presentation was very informative. Carrie's presentation on anchoring techniques for blowmolds was very helpful. Bill Miller's knowledge of blowmolds could entertain all for many, many hours. Chris' display items that he brought to share will allow others to expand their displays. Greg's presentation on capturing video of your display was most helpful. David's presentation on his Mega-Tree was great and others definitely benefitted from his insight. Bill Hoffman's knowledge and enthusiasm for rope-light is very educational and exhausting (Bill, I know. Ropelight rulez!!!, typo intended) Behind the scenes mentions go to Tony, Bill, Rob LaRe (wish you would have been able to hang out longer, bro!!) and Andrew Stemen for their help in getting everything together. I would also like to thank our vendors for contributing to help make our gathering such a success. A wide range of vendors supplied lots of information about their products that will help our decorators with their great displays. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make light-UP Ohio better, then please email me. If there were things that were good or bad, then please let me know. I want to make sure that what we are doing is benefitting everyone. It was my honor and privilege to host the event. I look forward to seeing everyone again next year and hopefully a lot of new faces.

Here's a picture of mine: http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg21/sflindsey/2007%20Christmas%20Display/Nativity.jpg The one angel on the left is crooked thanks to the high winds we had that day. I didn't notice it when I took the picture. -
Dave, I knew there was something else I liked about you. Percussionists RULE!!!Played bassin the marching band. Man, those are some great memories. We would always tick off the band director. Our percussion director was such a perfectionist. We could get away with a lot because we put in so much extra time than the rest of the band. We never lost an outstanding percussion trophy in all my years in high school.
