Did you know?
  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.
  • The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and the red berries the blood he shed.
  • The three traditional colors of most Christmas decorations are red, green and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Christ, green symbolized life and rebirth, and gold represents light, royalty and wealth.
  • Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.
  • The oldest artificial Christmas trees date back to the late 1800s and were made of green raffia (think grass hula skirts) or dyed goose feathers. Next the Addis Brush Company used their machinery that wove toilet brushes to create pine-like branches for artificial Christmas trees that were less flammable and could hold heavier decorations.
  • ‘Jingle Bells’ – the popular Christmas song was composed by James Pierpont in Massachusetts, America. It was, however, written for thanksgiving and not Christmas.
  • Coca-Cola was the first company that used Santa Claus during the winter season for promotion.
  • Hallmark introduced their first Christmas cards in 1915.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  1. Thanks Duct Tape !!!!! You solved my problem !!!!!
  2. Is there a way to move (swap) channels in the LOR channel configuration. If so, will the change apply to all my sequences. Stan
  3. If you go to their web site Www.foscam.us and scroll to the bottom of the page, they have an outdoor model. Stan
  4. First of all Merry Christmas!!! My problem: I have the LOR 1602 MP3 Diretor. It is directing 14 controllers. All controllers are within 15 feet of each other. I have my show ( 19 minutes) on a Lexar 256MB SD Card. After making some changes to a couple of sequences, I put the show on a SanDisk 1GB Card. Using the SanDisk card, three of the six sequences are out of time. The sequences will be out of time at the start and then about half way through the sequences they will catch up. I'm wondering if the problem could be the larger capacity sd card. I don't want to use the 256 card for fear of the same problem happening on it. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Stan
  5. I outline the gable on my 2 story home with C9 LED's (5 LED's per light). The lights are mounted horizontally, so they are viewed tip to socket. In this position all 5 LED's can be seen. They are just as bright as C9 incandescents. Stan
  6. Could not have come at a better time. Thanks Bill! Stan
  7. Hey Jim, I use the washers from CDI on my C9's. I also have the vertical mount clips and do not have any problems with water intrusion. Stan

  12. Thanks Chuck, I really do not know how the timing issue got staightened out. The show has been running fine the last 2 nights. Thanks Again, Stan
  13. My show is running fine this evening. I did not mention that I am running on the mp3 director. After rerouting the cat 5 cables the random on - off problem was taken care of. I then had to contend with the timing issue. Lights and music were out of synch. I tried a couple of things which did not work. Now I don't know if this is what was wrong; I went into edit and checked LOCK TIMMINGS and this took care of the timing issue. Does anyone know if this could have been the cause of lights ahead of music? Thanks to everyone for their help wih troubleshooting my problems. Stan
  14. I re routed all the cat 5 cables and it did seem to correct the timing issue. However, on the CTB 16PC's you still have to route the cat 5 cable over power wires on the inside of the enclosure. I'm still having problems with lights comming on randomly. Stan
  15. Hey Duane, No they are not separated. I'll re route them and see what happens. Stan
  16. Everything is in synch on the animation screen. Stan
  17. I am having problems with my lights and music not being in synch. It doesn't happen all the time but it is a pain. I shut down my show this evening because of it. Also I have lights coming on when they are not suppose to come on. Any ideas on what could possibly be wrong? Do all my controllers need to have the same firmware updates? Thanks, Stan
  18. Hey Bill, I'm going to take Mike's advice and hang on to them. Not that I would have sent them anyway LOL. Because of the great price at Skycraft I thought I was getting SPT1. Stan
  19. Thanks to all for emphatically making this clear. I have some SPT1 plugs left over from last year and thought I could put them to use. I'll have to order SPT2 plugs to fit the wire I just received from Skycraft. Thanks Again, Stan
  20. Can I use SPT1 vampire plugs with SPT2 wire? Thanks, Stan
  21. The reason I asked about the audio file is not too long ago I downloaded some sequences from someone here at PC and the audio file was included. Stan
