  1. We've given out glow bracelets for several years. Anyone and everyone who comes to our house is welcome to one, parents included. As a matter of fact, there were a couple kids who told their parents that our house had to be the first stop. Since I can get the bracelets for about the same amount as what I would have spent on candy it's a win-win situation. Everyone gets a "cool" treat that they put right on, drivers can spot the trick or treaters very easily, and (so far) none of our Halloween decorations have been destroyed or stolen.
  2. This happened to me last year. Before you do anything else, try cleaning out dust and such. Excessive heat inside the pc can cause the looping, or at least it did in mine.
  3. Michelle, A site that helped me during my recovery is http://www.hystersisters.com/. There's a lot of very smart and compassionate women there who can answer any questions that might pop up.
  4. Jeff, you've got a PM. Just waiting to see the paypal info.
  5. 3,652,807 + 15,000 3,668,307 Just to bring this topic back to the top.
  6. That's a real problem around here. I haven't been able to find anything for a long time. We must be living in a blowmold desert, lol. Walmart didn't even have any of the animals to go with the nativity. The animals are something I wanted to fill out our nativity area. Good luck searching.
  7. Bill, the size of the fish may actually determine what to use. Rope lights can be difficult to use on sharp turns and may take quite a bit of cutting and splicing. Mini lights come in various lengths. When one mini burns out, you just replace the bulb. When a section of rope light goes out, you have to replace the whole thing. I don't know how your power situation is, but minis draw a whole lot less than rope. You may want to take that into account in your decision. Colors...Well, it's Christmas so how about red and green? You could have the head and tail green and when the fish is out of the water be red. Or a whole rainbow of fish colors. The sky's the limit. Whatever you use, it sounds like a really cool idea.
  8. Decorating for us is a family affair. I do the design, layout, and sequencing. Mike handles all the power and basicly makes the plan happen. We have everything on paper so whichever one of us has the time to work on the setup just has to refer to the plan.
  9. I didn't know that D-Light had a demo version. That might help someone making a decision. Both companies are great and have a good support group here on PC. It's a tough decision to make.
  10. What I did this year was to make a copy of each oflast year's sequences.Last year'sare now in a 05 folder. I then made a new musical sequence including all the new channels and such and a new animation screen. This became the templet for 06. (Export channel configuration in the drop down edit tab) When it was time to resequence, all I had to do was open the 06 copy, then import the 06 templet (edit >>> import channel configuration which bring up a new window with your templet choices >>> double click the one you want) LOR will then guide you through the rest of the set up. Make sure that you have a new name for the updated files, ie 07_Jingle Bells if you want to keep your origionals. Happy sequencing!
  11. I've been waiting for this someone else to start this topic. It's a tradition I've come to love here. Just how many lights are on thanks to PC? Here's how this works. Post the number of lights you have (in my case 17,000), add the number from the previous post (0 right now), then post the total (17,000). PlanetChristmas 2007 0 + 17,000 = 17,000
  12. Hobby Lobby sells the cords year round. I think they're about $3.
  13. Sorry to hear aboutyour display. Stay safe during the clean up.
  14. It should be easy to just set up a LOR show for the lights you want on after hours. Just figure out how long you want the lights on and make that the sequence length. Then set up a second show. Good luck.
  15. You stop putting out lights when it looks good to you. You stop buying lights when you're out of money.
  16. This has been a really useful thread! The different MT spins translate well to mini trees. Thanks.
  17. Is there a logo that I can use as a clickable?
  18. Last year, all we had was an 8 channel controller, so we did a good bit of channel sharing. For example, the front fence and the roof were on the same channel. Each one of the front trees shared with 2 out of 6 mini trees and lights on the two small evergreens. I really liked how things were mirrored throughout the display. In fact, I liked it so much that I'm continuing the trend even though we've increased the number of channels we have. Edit: I'm not seeing the pic you posted; only the red X shows up.
  19. Since you didn't specify which controllers you're using, here's one for LOR. http://lorsequences.com/There are several Carol of the Bells there.
  20. First off, welcome to PC. Please take a moment to update your profile. That way we have an ideawhat stateyou're from. There may be someone living close to you; you never know! You might have better luck asking your question in one of the forums matching whichever controller/s you're using or the generic sequencing forum. Animated_Lighting D-Light Light-O-Rama Sequencing_Light_Shows Once again, welcome!
  21. For our graveyard ghost, I washed cheese cloth with Mrs Stewarts blueing. She wasn't glowing very well so I mixed up some blueing mix in a spray bottle and spritzed her and now she glows great. You can find blueing on the laundry isle in the grocery store.
  22. Don't have any words of wisdom to help in a situation like yours. If your marriage is worth keeping, then it's worth doing whatever you have to do to make it work. Wishing you the strength and patience to endure.
  23. Sorry to hear of your loss Robin. It must have been tough not to go to the funeral.
