  • About my display
I have been collecting and decorating for many years. Its a favorite passtime of mine. Its got quite large with many , many blowmolds being my favorite.
  1. Matilda. I was into my Local Menards store in Green Bay Yesterday and they had many of the tall skinny pumpkins on clearance. You might want to check your local Menards.I would be willing to get the ones here for you it they are still available and ship them to you. Also I was into my Local Walgreens . I dont know if you have them in your area. And they had several of the new blowmold carved pumpkins. They were the big ones . on clearance for only five dollars. They were twenty a piece to begin with. The store seemed very overstocked with Halloween merchandise. Just thought Id mention it . Af
  2. Very Nice Work Matilda. I bet you hate to Have to take it all down. I feel that way everytime I get my displays just right. I get depressed when it time to pack it all up. Sometimes I leave my Christmas Display up and lighted till near the end of January. Costs terribly in the electric bill. But people still drive by to see it . Maybe not as many as in December. But they still come by. It passes January away a bit quicker.Anyways Great Job. I cant wait to see your Christmas Display. Bill
  3. Chuck I have a concern about a matter on Planet Christmas PLEASE respond And I will explain it in detail Thankyou Bill

  4. Ok Mr Shawn. You can believe what you want.!!I have the original receipt in front of me. Bronners has always been priced higher. Than say Sears as they are a specialty year round attraction. And they can command whatever price they put on items. Because why . The customers will pay it. Because why?? They can say they purchased it at Bronners. Not that makes it any better none the less. But its the way it goes.Heres a perfect example. I have myself shopped for many a years at Bronners. Its a annual destination. Must have my dated Bronners ornaments and such. I found some great blown glass ornam
  5. HI Again . First of all . I dont intend on selling it noway. It was my Mothers. I was just wondering how much it was worth.I know its worth alot more than $400.It cost more than that new .I found the receipt in one of the boxes. It was from Bronners. It has The Holy Family . Three Wisemen, The Shepard and four Lambs, Two donkeys, Two oxes, Three Camels, A Angel and a Star . And the stable. She paid $605. plus tax and shipping for it.They are not brittle at all . I know Blowmolds. The insulation that was covering their boxes .Obviously helped preserve them.I will post pictures as soon as I get

  7. Hello I was cleaning the Attic of my late parents Home. Which I now own over the weekend . And I discovered That I still had a very Old Poloron Lifesize. Nativity Set up there that I had long forgotten. Along with many other things long forgotten. I should mention it was in a bigger Gable end part where My Father had Blown in Insulation put in that covered their boxes. It was my Mothers. That she had always displayed on our front lawn. She passed away in 1984 . And I have only been up there a few times since. It took me totally by surprise that I of all people. A Blowmold Nut should forge
  8. HI What I did for my choir was to. Use wire milk crates. I went to my local dairy and purchase many of their used crates. Many are just a bit rusty sometimes . but still in good shape. The dairy cant deliver milk in them if they get a bit rusty . so thet salvage them. I only paid .25 cents a piece for mine. Then you can stack them whatever height you want in tiers. I then purchased cheap electrical pipe at menards by the 10 ft sections and cut it to size. tapping it right through the top of the crates right into the ground. It works wonderful. It even hammers into frozen ground.I used artifica
  9. Yes and some of their Early molds were stamped JUDITH NOVELTY SALES I have a few that bear that stamping. In the beginning the molds were painted with extra detail. They slowly lost their color variations and Quality.I like the ones that came with their own boxes . But depending on the retailer they were being produced for most came without packaging . And many the retailer could choose their color scheme. I miss the days of Retaliers such as Shopko in my area. Which would havea seperate Trim -A =Tree department just filled with lighted decor. Those were the days. Also the Sears outlet stor
  10. WOW You found all those in one day!! Garage sales must be fun in your part of the country.I travel to many Sales weekly and hardly ever find anything. When I ask if they have any of the Christmas Figures. The usual response is we did but some had some paint missing . So we threw them away. I get so mad when I hear that . But its the most common response.I think I would have better odds contacting some Garbage guys or the local Dump I can just imagine how many they see all the time REGARDS BILL:santasmileyitty:
  11. OH MY GOODNESS !!!I just wondering if that bid is for real!!!Cant Imagine anyone paying that much for it. I have two of those I also have a Larger version that they made.I would have never guessed they were even worth much.Anyone interested in mine ??. Ive never even used them in my display in the many years Ive been collecting
  12. Hi I was Just wondering How many of yous Have Fond Memories as I do of Being a Kid and going to the Stores at Christmas Time . And wanting all The Christmas Lightup Decorations. Or BLOWMOLDS as we know them as now.The retailers never did get many of any item in so you needed to get them quick. I can remember doing any kind of jobs for relatives just to make the money to aquire the decorations. As my parents would only purchase a few and then they would say enough is enough. Dont go overboard with it. Well needless to say . I rarely listened to them and bought as many as I could get my hands on
  13. Hello Mel Have you ever tried contacting the winning bidders on these catalogs. Some just may be Compassionate and Helpful and willing to scan the pages you desire and send them to you. I hear you have compiled quite a nice Cd of old decorations. And seeing that you are not doing it for profit. But for the benefit of the whole Planet Christmas Community and beyond. Iam sure most sensable people would cooperate and send you the needed pages . Well maybe anyways . Just my Thoughts. By the way how do I get a copy of your handywork . Thanks Bill
  14. HELLO In response to Carries message. Iam wondering. Iam a new member and was looking into selling some of my collections as well as A recent garden center buyout I aquired. Unfortunately when I checked on shipping rates for most all the Blowmolds . The shipping cost was way to expensive . Making them unattractive to any buyers. I discovered a few sellers on Ebay that quoted unreal low shipping rates. And I was curious as to how they were able to ship the same items at such drastically discounted rates. In inquiring at the Post Office. I was informed that those sellers Such as one named XXXXX w
