  1. Hey everyone - I got everything up and running in a record 4 days! There are still some small adjustments that need to be made but overall the display is running well. If you want to see it, PM me for the address. I'm in Pittsgrove, just outside of Vineland. Also, I don't have a sign up yet but the radio station is 88.1 FM. Thanks! Greg
  2. Hey guys, I haven't started to set up yet, but I am planning to have it going in less than 2 weeks. I just have to get through exams here at Drexel on Monday and Tuesday then I will come home and start setting up. -Greg
  3. Here are some of the pictures I took, as well as some from Cenote: https://www.getdropbox.com/gallery/124533/1/Philly%20Mini%202009?h=eda8ce Thanks, Greg
  4. Haha, I will definitely try to continue the show in college, wherever I'll be. One more day on the Demented Elf Deal. Also, if you have pictures, please see the post HERE. Those who were interested in the PAR Cans, please see THIS. Thanks again to all! -Greg Oh and Ed - I just realized I never printed out those papers for you. You should have reminded me, as I would have done it. Anyway, thanks again to all for the great mini.
  5. I wanted to say thanks to all that came to the Philly Mini! It was great seeing all these Christmas enthusiasts in the middle of July! It was nice to see some familiar faces again as well as some new ones. I hope everybody had a good time and picked up some great ideas. I know I did. I'm sorry I couldn't get the LOR setup working today. I will be posting the guide with videos soon, so everyone can pick up some tips on programming moving lights. I think LOR's software has me frustrated enough to convert the LOR dimmers over to DMX and start playing around with Vixen. I just may be a convert.
  6. Everyone who signed up just received another email with the address and phone details. If you still would like to come, or did not receive the email, please let me know by emailing [email protected] Thanks a lot, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday! -Greg
  7. Hey everyone – we're less than a month away from the big day! This year's event is going to be smaller than last year's, but that doesn't mean it will be less exciting! I do have a couple new items to show off, but I am going to need your help as well (to make the planning go more smoothly). Because there are less people coming this year, it is more difficult getting people to bring items. We need you to bring stuff to make this a successful mini. It can be anything, as long as it deals with Christmas. For example, you could show off your new LED strings or a cool prop you built. We h
  8. Haha. Please remember to email me at [email protected] if you are interested in coming.
  9. Hey everyone, I now have some more free time so I am going into Mini-Planning-Commando mode. What I want to know is, is there something you would like to see in person at the Philly Mini? For example, is there something you see online, but you want to know what it is like in person before adding it to your display? Is there a decorating trick that you aren't so sure will work in your show? Do you want to learn how to solder? (I do!) Is there a computer program that seems way too complicated? Perhaps you want to learn about all the software products from seasoned users. Keep in mind, this
  10. This year's mini is a go! It will be held at my house again. We are planning for a one day event so far. It will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009. Sign up details: The format will be a little different this year, We are planning the group to stay together as a group and not spread throughout the house. The preliminary idea is to have the morning as a compare and contrast group. Because everyone is basically using some form of Vixen, either DIY or one of the pre-built system, we will have a common thread between us, but yet we can see the benefits of choicing which hardware to

  14. I want to send a special thanks to Paul fro Creative Displays. I had ordered 2 cases of LEDs from him and 2 sets would not work out of the box and another failed after only 2 days of operation. I tried replacing the fuses and making sure the diodes were all connected, to no avail. I called Paul the other day and no questions asked, he sent me 3 new sets of the same LEDs! Thank you Paul - I look forward to doing business with you in the future! Greg
  15. You should have received updates with some important information about the Philly Mini in your email or PM Box (or both). If you did not get the message or would like to sign up, please contact me through PM. Thanks! Greg
