  1. I had posted this over in the FLORIDA section but thought it should also be posted here as well. I have decided to keep the Mini Mega Tree Tower and sell off the other parts (lights and the star) The red and blue lights were purchased from Winterland Christmas Lights in 2009. the multi colored lights came from Walmart and are also 2 years old. Both kinds have ONE LED in each bulb you can see the brightness of these if you watch the video on VIMEO. The red and blue lights are 25 lights, spaced 5" to the strand and are 12' long. There are 48 strands of each color and I have 4-5 of each that are new as spares that I will sell along with each group purchased. The Walmart lights are 25 lights, spaced 6" to the strand and are 16' long, there are 32 strands of these lights, they are also replaceable, where the others are not. They are all C9s and are heavy thus the cost of shipping would cost almost as much as what they are worth. They must be picked up or I could meet you half way somewhere in Central Florida. 48-c9 RED 25 lights per strand, spaced 5" apart, 1 LED per bulb, nonreplaceable - $3.50 ea. 48-c9 BLUE 25 lights per strand, spaced 5" apart, 1 LED per bulb, nonreplaceable - $3.50 ea. 32-c9 MULTI 25 lights per strand, spaced 6" apart, 1 LED per bulb, replaceable - $3.00 ea. Also For Sale is the double 3D star on the top of the tree. It is 3 large stars on the outside(48") and 3 smaller stars (26") on the inside. the outside stars have 6 sets of GE c5 warm white led lights that can be controlled separately and the inside has three sets of red m5 from Led Holiday Lighting, each can be controlled separately. This star was new this year, as were the lights. This Item can NOT BE SHIPPED , you can see it in the VIMEO video. I used 9 LOR channels to control the star. Reason for selling - I am down sizeing my trees. Asking $150.00 Here is the link to the video: http://vimeo.com/17908235 Thank You Earle Ocala, FL.
  2. PaulXmas, If you read the intro to that post, Jacob posted it in another thread and I moved it to this one so it would not get missed, sorry if you misunderstood this, but sometimes one needs to read a little closer. I am in no way part of MITS I am just a member of Planet Christmas trying to Look out for others as well as myself. Earle

  4. Depends on what you use to cut it with. I use a heavy duty pair of wire cutters, put the wire in them and then use a hammer and hard surface. Then put electrical tape around the end. I also have a pair of 36" bolt cutters that will do the job but any bolt cutters should work very easley. Earle
  5. I have also placed my order thru the MITS web site and everything worked without any problems. I think MITS did a great job in resolving the problem and I give them a WELL DONE !!! Earle
  6. Jacob just posted this over on the Beware !!! MITS Light Buyers Thread so I moved it over here. Re: Beware !!! Mits light buyers As way of introduction, I am Ryan’s sidekick in the lighting business. MITS have been in the display fireworks business since 1999 and as you can imagine the business comes with its share of dealing with government agencies… We have got a final fix on the sales tax issue as outlined below: 1) Only folks ordering from a Texas address will be charged sales tax by Google Checkout (we found the super secret setting to make this possible) 2) Anyone who has already placed an order will receive an email from me stating the amount they were over charged and receive the option to get a refund check in the mail or have the amount applied to the 40% balance or shipping. Checks will be mailed as soon as a response is received from each individual. 3) We are sorry the online system has been buggy. Even though this is our first rodeo in an online ordering environment; rest assured you will receive full and complete value for your payment and we look forward to supplying you these excellent lights! 4) If you are in a state that charges use tax, you must pinky promise to submit full use tax on your order (least a state misses out on their fair bite of your hard earned dollar;) 5) If you have any questions about this sales tax issue please contact me directly at 210-267-5371 or [email protected] As always Ryan is the best contact for anything lighting or product related Earle
  7. Problem has been solved by MITS so there is no futher need to keep this thread open. Earle
  8. As Jacob said the problem has been fixed, I just place my order and everything worked as he said it would. I was very happy to see the problem get solved even though it caused some other problems. So , maybe this is the start of a good friendship with a new vendor that will listen and do the right thing when things don't always go right. MITS JOB WELL DONE !!! Earle
  9. Navygator, Where are you in Fl. ? I have 5 sets of green that I just happened to see one day while going thru the lights, they were hidden behind other boxes of lights. The bad news is I paid full price for them I think $6.87 or $6.97 per box. I took two strings out of the box and put on my mini trees to see if there was a match. The Walmart lights were not as bright as the ones on my trees (more like incand.) so I took them off and put them away ( used about 1 hr.). If you are close to Ocala and would like to pick them up you can have them all for $30.00. Earle
  10. Why not use this item from Harboe Frieght: http://www.harborfreight.com/3mm-x-100-ft-wire-rope-97514.html It's what I use and with a 20% off coupon it even makes it a real good buy! Earle
  11. Ryan, Yes your prices are better than most, but when the sales tax is added, that money could be used to buy more lights, I will order from you but not online. I just think that Google is wrong and thought I should make it known that the only ones that should be charged the sales tax are the buyers that live in Texas or states that requires it to be collected by the seller (Florida is not one of those states). I don't know how many people have placed an online order but there could be $$$$$$$$$$$$ involved here. I have tried, to send an e-mail to Google but everything I tried has been in vain. What other way is there to checkout than Google????? Earle
  12. I am posting this only to let you know that GOOGLE CKECKOUT is charging sales tax on all sales. Ryan and I have e-mailed each other about this subject and it seems that GOOGLE can't fix this or won't. AT first they were charging 8.25% Texas local and state tax, then after 2-3 e-mails with Ryan, they started charging you (buyers) your state sales tax. As per the last e-mail with Ryan the only way around this is to use the mail order form. The information for Internet tax can be found here, http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/article-29919.html , I am in no way saying not to buy your lights from MITS due to this problem but I thought everyone should know. I am going to place my order by mail next week if the porblem is not resolved. Earle W Talley
  13. Hi Brandon, The spiral without the star is 6' tall and the one with the star is 8' tall. Thanks for looking. Earle
  14. Before I place the tree in storage I thought I would give someone a chance to get it for a reduced price of $500.00. Thank You Earle
  15. If you don't have a Rohn tower(3 post TV tower) or very strong steel pole avoid the c9's do to the weight. I use a tower and have 3200 c9's on it, very heavy ! As far as the brightness you can check out one of my videos at http://vimeo.com/18111524 and judge for yourself. The multis are Walmart and the red and blue are from Winterland-XMAS Lights, all have 1 led in them. Earle
  16. Dave, My error on the diameter, 93" is the raidus the diameter is 186" or 15.5' . Earle
  17. Hi Dave, The star that is on the tree now is a double 3d star, white outside and red inside. There are some older videos still on that site from last year, the single north star from last year is also for sale with lights $75.00. The diameter of the base is 93". I just looked at the video and the one that I refer to in the above post is the correct one with the 3d star. Earle
  18. Tgab, Those are 12" rebar stakes.

  21. Here is a video of small one (on the right side).http://vimeo.com/17908235 Simple to make ,but lots of time on spacing and wire ties (well worth it). Earle
  22. Thanks Ryan, my wife and I always wanted to see SA, but I just wanted an idea because it could make a difference in paying 60% or 100% in the beginning. Thank You Earle
  23. Is there a way to find or estimate the shipping cost before going thru the checkout phase???
